The past few events have been great! The car has been working well and it's been giving me an opportunity to work on going faster instead of fixing issues, until today.
I went to Iowa Region SCCA's 10th event today held at the Iowa City Airport. Of the 3 runs I was able to complete I got the fastest run in during my final run. Check it out here: https://youtu.be/Rkp6-h9koL8?si=tOeCCtg_BXBjODlp
I enjoy going here because it's a significant change of pace compared to our local GRR events. We don't have enough space to do transitional elements like they do and I wanted to get some practice in. Of the 3 runs I got the car felt amazing and was doing very well. Going through the finish after my final morning run there was a big puff of smoke. At first I thought it was tire smoke but it got worse when I reved the motor.
The car sounds fine but smokes out the valve cover and it seems out the exhaust. We're guessing a piston ring broke but we'll know more when we can dig in to the motor.
