Week 32 of the Squeaky Chicken Mile took me to the track! ππββοΈ
This week's mile was the warm-up run before the track meet with runners from Spewak, Dogtown, and Run It Back. There's just something special about getting a bunch of runners together, whether they're there to race, cheer, volunteer, or simply enjoy being part of the community.
Of course, this wouldn't be a Squeaky Chicken Mile without a little chaos.
I had some technical difficulties and ended up joining the warm-up a lap late, so I had to get creative to finish my mile. The final quarter mile involved running around the outside of the track and then heading up the hill to get back in time to watch the races. π
Honestly, that's one of the reasons I keep doing these miles. They aren't really about the distance anymore. They're about finding ways to make running fun, explore new places, and celebrate the running community.
And this week was a great reminder that running is about more than just your own workout. It's about showing up for each other, cheering people on, and sharing the experience.
Oh, and I'm still waiting for ChicknLegs to make a squeaky chicken pattern outfit. The campaign continues. ππ

What's your favorite part of a race or track meet? The running, the cheering, or just hanging out with the running community afterward?
