C1 Division Preview!!

With the new mixup in the league with teams, the C1 Division looks entirely different compared to last year.

Aeros-The Aeros had a very tough summer, but seemed to find some traction towards the end of it and are hoping to build on that momentum heading into the 2024-2025 season.

Americans-Expect lots of high scoring games, especially with Eric Rose and Jordan Oster leading the back. 2nd year netminder Kyle Darnold will look to continue improving in between the pipes and get them back to the postseason.

Flyers-Tough breaks for the Flyers. They had an impressive turnaround at the end of the 2023-2024 season, making the division finals but ultimately falling short in OT. The loss of Joe Barber and Rick Whitmore takes out a lot of it. New addition Joseph Dietrich will look to keep that offense sparked this season.

Lumberhacks-"The 'goal'" has been lurking in the back of the minds of the Lumberhacks, as the play in question ultimately was a huge factor in the team falling short in the C2 semi-finals. The Hacks didn't really have any major changes, but did add a little speed in Matt Kellermann. Look for the Hacks to be on a path to get to the C1 division finals this year as an early favorite.

Puckhogs-This scrappy squad is always in contention for a title, and they'll be once again competing for it this season. A tough blow did come in losing forward Max Baldwin. Pfister was a brick wall in between the pipes last season, and expect more of the same if the Hogs want to get over the hump for a division title.

Shamrocks-Well, these guys don't look anything like they did last year. An entire new look roster, the Shamrocks moved into C1 with competitive expectations to win. A close preseason game with the Vipers set the tone as they'll look to score on size and heavy shots to win games.

Vipers-Last years C2 division champs, the Vipers did take a hit, losing defenseman Coleman Kaufman for the entire year. Youth and defense was this team's strength last year, and especially during last years championship run. Expect more of the same this upcoming season.

C2 DIVISION PREVIEW

The C2 Division has an entirely new look for the upcoming division as the division got split off from 11 teams. This year, the new C2 is rocking with 6 teams.

Beavers-The Beavers had a tough year losing Speziman and Erker to injuries for the entire season, which was a large chunk of their offense. The Beavers are revamped and after a really nice playoff run over the summer, are setup to have a bounce back 2024-2025 campaign.

Force-Another team who had a tough year last season, the Force revamped a little bit adding some more scoring depth and a change in goal as they moved onto Courtland Frost to take over for the upcoming season. Like the Beavers, expect the Force to have a nice bounce back season.

Frostbite-Frostbite had major attendance throughout the season as they only averaged about 10 skaters a game. Playing with 2 lines isn't going to win many games. Frostbite added that depth this off-season, and if the full team shows, could make a big run this season.

Pirates-Pirates who were just a game away from winning the C3 division championship on the back of Josh Yakel last year, they're looking to make a splash in the next division up this season. Captain Mark Williams will be making his return from his injury at the end of last year, and has high hopes for the team this year.

Saints-New C2, New Look Saints. Much of the Saints roster looks entirely new, including in goal. New captain Mitch Morgester did a very impressive job bringing in a large chunk of new players to compete after last year's National championship season.

Stealth-One of the longest tenured teams in HNA, the Stealth are poised to have a big season. After having a tough go in C1 last year, they found some traction in C2, including making a solid playoff run, which ultimately fell short. Sef Preston added some new blood to hopefully get a little more offensive spark and help them make a deeper playoff run and potentially a championship.

As the season is drawing near, it's time to see what the expectations are for this year.

First up, C3!

Buncha Oldies (NEW TEAM)-We welcomed Buncha Oldis into the league this upcoming Fall. They began the preseason with a late 2-1 win over the Salamanders. Goaltender Tyler Brown will be the key to this team's success, as offensively, the Oldis are still looking to develop some identity.

Ghost Peppers-The Ghost Peppers had a tough first season, but are looking to get back on track after a strong summer that ended in a Finals appearance. Offensively, they need someone outside of captain George Baldas to put pucks in the net. Team has gained alot of confidence and will be looking to make the C3 playoffs this season.

Ice Picks-Once again, the Ice Picks had to make a change in goal this offseason. Rotating in the net is always a tough way to develop any consistency. A playoff team last year, the Ice Picks will look to build on that and make it back to back years.

Nanooks-Fresh off a summer championship, the Nanooks will have a new look coming into the season in the pipes as Kevin Kaiser is no longer the goalie. The Nanooks in their first full season had a great first season, missing out on the playoffs just barely. If they can find a little offensive spark, they can make a run at winning the division in just year 2.

Night Owls-A new team still trying to find identity, the Night Owls picked up some new players to hope to find that. Biggest key for them will be defensively forcing low % shots to help the new goalie.

Salamanders-AKA the Fire Lizards, the Salamanders are the other new beginners team, but have found a strong identity offensively. With some inconsistency in attendance in goal, the Salamanders also have a new goalie in Randall Gregory. Expect alot of high scoring games in the early going for this team, who could very well make the postseason in year 1.

Trash Pandas-It's all slowly coming together. A tough year 1 2 years ago, the Trash Pandas developed some consistency last year with Sweeney in the pipes and finding some offensive depth. Alex Sher is quickly becoming one of the fastest developing players in all of C3, and could be the piece to help veterans Spencer Pierce and Ric Schulte in the scoring depth.

Venom-An incredible bounce back year from the Venom, going from 3 wins to 11 and finishing 3rd in the division. Lack of playoff experience showed in the postseason as they fell short of their ultimate goal. Venom had a tough offseason, losing goaltender Drew Williamson, and forward Ian Pope. Kevin Blanchard will be manning the pipes this season, and has big shoes to fill, but with how fast this team has improved, a deep playoff run is the expectations for this squad this season.
