On this day 30 years ago, the Trans World Dome officially opened its doors in downtown St. Louis! The iconic venue went on to serve as home to the St. Louis Rams for 21 seasons before their departure.
Over the years, the building has worn a few different names. In 2002, it became the Edward Jones Dome, and after the Rams relocated, the sponsorship ended and the venue was reborn as The Dome at America’s Center.
Today, the Dome continues to roar with life, hosting conventions, major concerts, and other huge sporting events, including the St. Louis Battlehawks of the UFL and of course, the Famed Gateway Dirt Nationals.
Pretty cool piece of history for a place that still knows how to pack a crowd!
