CDL Mustangs are the Youth Development Football League under Creeks Football League and will be kicking off our 9th Season in 2017! The Development League is an innovative youth tackle football program for K thru 8th grade created specifically to assure a safe and enjoyable sports experience for every participant regardless of age, weight or ability. Players compete against each other in balanced
situations. As a result, all participants in this program derive significant benefit from the experience by developing new skills, gaining increased confidence, self-respect and self-worth, all while learning valuable life lessons including sportsmanship , teamwork, commitment, acceptance of discipline and the respect of others. This league works with the kids to not only achieve greatness on the field, but also in the classroom by making them earn helmet stickers for doing random acts of kindness versus getting something for scoring a touchdown. We want all the kids to grow and thrive everywhere not just on the gridiron! Rule Changes from 2016-2017:
•Fumbles are Live balls
•Gap shooting is allowed at Division 2 and up.
•Kickoffs and punts only at 11yr old level and up (National Change).
•Game Clock 25 Minute Halves with live 2 Minutes at end of both halves.
•3 Time Outs per half.
•1 coach on the field at all times only per side.
•All kids will get to play RB/WR atleast 3-5 times in the 10 or 11 game season.
•The QB position will be awarded to most likely only 6 - 10 kids based on level of knowledge and throwing ability (However during scrimmages anyone that wants to work on this position we will accommodate).
•All kids will get the opportunity to carry the ball and catch the ball.
•Safety is our highest priority so we will move kids up or down divisions based on how the teams are progressing. Divisions are based on multiple things:
•Age
•Ability
•Weight
•Experience
