To help reduce her pain from Scapular dyskinesis and a slipped rib we focused on activating the serratus anterior and mobilizing the scapulas (shoulder blades).

We utilized the band boxer punch, Scap rows on our suspension straps and Scap push-ups.

Movement is medicine and strength is never a weakness.

At Great Lakes Sports Performance, we’re focused on helping athletes move better, get stronger, build confidence, and compete at a higher level.

Through sports performance training, youth movement games, speed & agility work, strength development, and competitive activities, we create an environment where athletes can learn, grow, and have fun.

Our goal is simple:
✅ Help kids develop athleticism
✅ Improve confidence and teamwork
✅ Build healthy habits through movement

Your feet and ankles are your foundation.

When they hurt, everything above them pays the price.

We prioritize foot and ankle strength and get results faster with BFR.

Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) training may help improve:
- Foot & ankle strength
- Calf activation
- Mobility & stability
- Recovery with less joint stress
- Return-to-function after injury or surgery

One of the biggest advantages of BFR?

You can create a strong training stimulus with LIGHT loads, making BFR valuable when heavy loading isn’t tolerated.

From athletes to older adults, the foot and ankle often get overlooked… until pain, stiffness, weakness, or instability show up.

Stronger foundation = better movement.

Better movement = better performance, balance, and quality of life.

Start with going barefoot in the house and as often as possible.

Tag someone dealing with foot or ankle pain, we can help

Cross training involves using different sports to improve speed, agility, strength, and coordination.

Cross training helps uncover and develop different skill sets and improve bodily awareness.

Mini soccer is fast-paced so we are constantly on the move, accelerating, decelerating, and changing direction. The game also improves foot-eye coordination.

2-3 reps per side / facing each direction

These drills improve strength, speed, agility, and jumping.

Our warm-up goals are below…

1. Reduce injury risk
2. Increase flexibility
3. Improve speed
4. Enhance coordination
5. Improve hip mobility
6. Athletes feeling prepared

Our warm-up includes dynamic stretches, form running drills, strength movements, explosive jumps, and rapid changes in direction.

The warm-up sets the tone for the session so it’s important to bring effort, energy, and enthusiasm.

Our warm-up does more than warm-up it prevents injury and actually enhances strength, coordination, speed, agility, and jumping.

Shout out to our student-athletes! It’s a blast coaching you all.
