Today is a bittersweet night as we say goodbye to one of our own.
Eddie, first, congratulations on an incredible career with the United States Coast Guard. Retiring as a Commander is an accomplishment very few ever achieve. Thank you for your leadership, your service, and your commitment to protecting our country. We are proud of you.
For the past several years, you've also been a huge part of our Fresh BJJ family. I've had the privilege of watching you grow—not just in your jiu-jitsu, but as a leader, training partner, and friend. From earning your brown belt to helping make everyone around you better, you've left a lasting mark on this academy.
Your consistency, humility, work ethic, and willingness to help others are qualities that can't be measured by stripes or belts. Those are the things people will remember long after you've moved away.
As you begin this next chapter in California, know that you'll always have a home here. You'll always be part of the Fresh BJJ family. We expect great things from you, and we have no doubt you'll continue your jiu-jitsu journey, represent our team with class, and make an impact wherever you train.
Thank you for the laughs, the hard rounds, the friendship, and the memories. We wish you and your family nothing but happiness, success, and good health in this new adventure.
Congratulations, Commander. Congratulations, Brown Belt.
Fair winds and following seas, my brother. We'll miss you, but this isn't goodbye—it's simply "see you on the mats."
