At Shores Yoga, part of our mission is to cultivate an inclusive and welcoming space for everyone in our community. In celebration of Juneteenth, we are honored to invite all members of our community, including people of color and our neighboring communities to join us for a special FREE yoga class. We look forward to coming together to celebrate freedom, unity, wellness, and connection.

On June 19, 1865, nearly two years after President Abraham Lincoln emancipated enslaved Africans in America, Union troops arrived in Galveston Bay, Texas with news of freedom. More than 250,000 African Americans embraced freedom by executive decree in what became known as Juneteenth or Freedom Day. With the principles of self-determination, citizenship, and democracy magnifying their hopes and dreams, those Texans held fast to the promise of true liberty for all.

Join us Friday June 19th for a FREE all levels Slow Flow at 4:45pm. Please pre-register to join.

A Supportive Teen Series for Connection, Creativity & Everyday Well-Being

Being a teenager today can feel like a lot. School, friendships, expectations, social media, and pressure can make it hard to slow down, breathe, and be yourself.

This 4-week series offers a relaxed space to pause, move, reflect, and explore simple practices that support everyday well-being.

Each week, we’ll explore ways to feel more grounded, manage stress, build self-awareness, and connect more authentically with ourselves and others. Teens will leave with practical tools they can use in daily life.

Sessions may include mindful movement and gentle yoga-inspired practices, breathwork and grounding techniques, mobility, balance and strength, creative expression, music, reflective prompts, and open conversation. Throughout the series, teens will also build a personal accordion-style journal using mixed media, imagery, words, and collected materials that come together over the 4 weeks into a personal keepsake of their experience.

This is not a typical yoga class, therapy group, or school program. It’s a welcoming space to show up as you are. Move, create, laugh, reflect, connect, and simply take a break from the constant noise of everyday life.

No yoga or artistic experience is needed, just curiosity and openness.

Come as you are.

Slow Burn Hot Vinyasa 🔥 A strength-focused vinyasa class that combines intentional pacing, long holds, and controlled movement to build endurance, stability, and deep muscular engagement. Expect slow transitions, time-under-tension sequences, and mindful repetition designed to challenge both body and breath. This heated flow emphasizes form, core activation, mobility, and resilience - creating a powerful balance of strength, focus, and fluidity.

The room is gently heated to around 85-90°F during cooler months to support muscle warmth and mobility. We recommend taking a few foundational classes (3–5) beforehand to feel comfortable with the flow.

Join Janelle from Infinite Potential Healing for this experiential meditation based workshop. Tap into and identify some of your unique Angels. Guardians, and Guides, and begin to lay the foundation as to how you can access them and work with them on a regular basis!

Not only will we begin to identify the different personalities and flavors of your personal spiritual committee, but we’ll learn some tips and tricks to access them and build meaningful on-going relationships with them! We will also talk about overcoming some of the most common roadblocks and hurdles in making sustainable, meaningful connections with your guides.

Dress in comfortable clothing and please bring a notebook/paper and something to write with. Feel free to bring anything that helps you relax and connect.

Teacher Spotlight – Angela

3 words that describe your teaching style.
Compassionate – Relational - Present

Current fav music playlist:
Neo-classical minimalist, gentle instrumental, and ambient music that supports slowing down and turning inward. Music that creates space.

What are you currently into?
Lately, I’ve been really drawn to work that brings people together in supportive and meaningful ways. I’m especially interested in integrative practices and love exploring how yoga therapy, conversation, and creative expression can come together to deepen connection.

What to expect in your class?
In my classes, you can expect to slow way down, listen inward, and move with awareness. I emphasize breath, choice, and gentle sensing over effort, offering accessible movements that help release tension and support nervous system balance. Sessions flow from supported stillness into mindful, exploratory movement and return to rest, with invitations throughout so each person can adapt the practice to their needs.

What lights you up?
Meaningful Connection. Seeing people soften, feel at ease, and discover their own inner strength and calm, especially when they didn’t think it was possible.

Fun fact about you.
In junior high, I wrote an advice column in our school newspaper called “Dear Angie.”
