Yall!!! How cool is this? I just recently started trying to share content on our Canoe Creek Stables YouTube channel. We are just starting out with it and have an itty bitty # of subscribers but LOOK at the views on this video from last week! How crazy is that #? Now just think if every time someone watched that video they sent up a prayer for our program. What a wonderful thought. Ever noticed the special reins in some of our riding photos?
These are called ladder reins, an adaptive riding tool designed to help some riders develop greater independence and success in the saddle.
The loops along the reins give riders consistent places to hold, making it easier to:
🐴 Maintain hand position
🐴 Improve balance and coordination
🐴 Build confidence with steering skills
🐴 Encourage greater independence while riding
Every rider's needs are different, which is why adaptive equipment can be such a valuable part of therapeutic riding. Sometimes a small adjustment can make a big difference in helping a rider achieve their goals.
Before any adaptive equipment is used in a lesson, we always test it on our therapy horses first. This allows us to ensure the equipment fits properly, functions as intended, and is comfortable for both horse and rider.
At Canoe Creek Stables, we're constantly looking for ways to make riding safer, more accessible, and more successful for every participant.
