Springport Varsity Softball team participated in the Bark and Wine fundraiser put on by the Capital Area Humane Society at Duck Lake Country Club yesterday. Their job was to entertain 20 dogs before they went on stage for the “ Strut Your Mutt Parade”! It was a fun and entertaining event and the girls hearts were full of love after spending 5 hours with their special pup♥️! Thank you to all of the players, friends and adults who volunteered their support and time! It was a true success! Also, a shout out to our MVP on the evening, Ashlyn Underhill with her dog Charlie!

Looking forward to the future, next year, we will be returning 14 out of 15 players. The freshmen will have a full year of high-pressure varsity experience under their belts, the sophomores will step into upperclassmen leadership roles, and that tight-knit bond is only going to get stronger. This year, we built our foundation for next year and years to come. I can’t wait to see what a year of experience does for this team! Go Spartans🥎💙🏆!

Rookie of the Season: Kendall Petrak
This award recognizes the top-performing first-year athlete. It highlights an individual's outstanding statistics, overall impact on their team, and seamless transition to the highest level of competition.

Kendall caught every game with no complaints. She hit number 2 in our lineup! She could lay down a bunt for a hit or SAC bunt, she could hit homers and boy, could she throw people out as well! Great work Kendall!

MIP-Most Improved Player: Kenna Presley
The athlete who shows the most significant growth in skill, confidence, and game understanding from the beginning of the season to the end. It celebrates dedication, coachability, and countless hours of practice over raw talent.
The improvement that Kenna has had is all because of hard work, dedication and grit. Each & everyday, she did what needed to be done. By the end of the season, she was getting a quick jump to the balls in the outfield and catching almost everything! Great job, Kenna!

Peyton’s motto is always team first. She is not afraid to speak up when needed. She takes accountability for herself. She is a great leader in so many ways! She keeps us together and humble, she is our GLUE GIRL! Great work, Peyton Collier!
