Derrick Griffin brought home the win Friday night at 5 Flags Speedway with the Modifieds of Mayhem tour! šŸ†

The #95 ā€œEstellaā€ was on rails all night, showcasing what DG Performance Modifieds are built for.

None of this is possible without the countless hours DG puts in behind the scenes and everyone who supports us week in and week out.

The busy time of the year has arrived for the Barrett Coito Racing Team, and with that we’ve fallen a little behind in keeping our family, friends, and fans up to date on social media.

We’ve had two races so far at Corrigan Oil Speedway.

The first race of the outdoor season was a very valuable learning experience for both Knox and Nash as they learned the unique configuration and characteristics of the tricky track. Both boys learned a lot and were ready to apply what they took away from the first race night.

The boys spent time watching videos from opening night and worked hard in the shop throughout the week, making setup changes and building confidence heading into race night number two at Corrigan Oil Speedway.

When we pulled into the track for the second race, the boys were ready and eager to put everything they had learned to use. Both drivers ran very well in their heat races, and confidence was high heading into the feature events.

Before the feature, Knox told the crew he was going to do good because he had ā€œbutterflies in his tummy.ā€ From the drop of the green flag, Knox drove to the front and built a commanding lead. A late caution tightened the field back up, and he had to hold off a very tough group of competitors on the restart. Knox stayed calm, hit his marks, and drove away with the win and the biggest trophy of his racing career so far.

Nash also had a very strong night, running closely behind teammate Casen and bringing home an impressive 4th-place finish. Nash was excited for his brother’s win, but he’s already motivated and hungry to bring home a trophy of his own.

The boys will be off this week as we take the No. 5 DG Performance Modified to Kalamazoo Speedway with Jeff Ganus behind the wheel. We hope to see everyone there!

After last week’s rainout, the BCR team was ready to make the short trip to Corrigan Oil Speedway and kick off the season—but Mother Nature had other plans.

We’ll have to wait one more week, but we’ll be back at it next Friday, May 8th! Racing starts at 7:30 PM.

We hope to see everyone there!

Corrigan Oil Speedway is sorry to announce the cancellation of tomorrow’s events. We were sooo looking forward to rolling out our new twin features format. Please help us reach out to our guests, teams and staff.

The BCR team was all locked and loaded to head to I96 Speedway in Lake Odessa this afternoon, but Mother Nature had other plans. We’ll have to wait one more week to kick off our season.

No downtime here though — the team will be busy in the shop all week getting everything dialed in for our closest track of the season, Corrigan Oil Speedway in Mason, Michigan.

Knox, Nash, and Casen will be back in action in the Mini Wedges, while Liam and Teddy will be hitting the track in their 4-cylinder racecars. After a long winter, Liam and Teddy are more than ready to get back behind the wheel.

We hope to see everyone at Corrigan Oil Speedway next Friday night — racing starts at 7:30 PM in Mason, MI!

The BCR team wrapped up our final trip of the season at the Extreme Mini Wedge Indoor Winter League today. The season flew by, and every driver gained valuable experience—from what it takes to be fast indoors, to adapting driving styles, to experiencing both the highs of winning and the agony of defeat.

Nash had a tough start in practice when his mini wedge wouldn’t run, but with an all-hands-on-deck effort, the team diagnosed a faulty fuel pump just in time. He made it out for his heat race and drove straight to the front, taking home the checkered flag.

Knox was up next in his heat race, battling hard for the lead and finishing 3rd. Back in the pits, he wanted adjustments—not happy with the handling and especially not thrilled that Nash picked up a medal for his win.

Starting 3rd in his feature, Nash quickly worked his way into 2nd and began chasing down the leader. Just as he was setting up for a move, he spun coming off turn two and was sent to the tail. After working his way back through the field and dealing with a few cautions, he finished a solid 4th.

Knox started on the outside of his feature and showed the work he’s been putting in all week at home—jumping to the lead in turn one. He settled into 2nd, staying glued to the leader’s bumper the entire race, but just couldn’t find the opportunity to make the pass. He brought home a strong 2nd place finish. His words after climbing out said it all: ā€œI might not have gotten a medal in the heat race, but I got another trophy to add to my collection!ā€

Teammate Casen had an impressive run, leading most of his feature, but a last-lap, last-corner incident cost him what would have been his first feature win.

The entire BCR team is proud of the progress each driver made this indoor season—and even more proud of how much fun they had out on the track.

Next up: outdoor racing on both pavement and dirt. We’re working on locking in the schedule and will share updates soon!

A huge thank you to everyone who supports Team BCR—whether behind the scenes or cheering us on at the track. None of this would be possible (or nearly as fun) without you!

This past Sunday the BCR team raced at Extreme Indoor Karting in the Mini Wedge Winter League.

Knox and Nash started off practice working on the lines they’ve been practicing at home on the track they built on the shop table. Both boys did a great job applying what they’ve been learning.

Nash’s heat race was first, and he took off from the drop of the green flag and didn’t miss a beat, heading straight to victory lane. After the race he told the crew, ā€œSee… last one in the trailer, first one to victory lane!ā€

Knox’s heat race was up next. He pulled away with nearly a straightaway lead until a caution bunched the field back up. On the restart he lost the lead and ended up finishing third.

The features were up next. Nash started on the pole and looked strong, but after a caution he had to pull to the attention of his crew for a mechanical issue that sidelined him from the event. He was definitely disappointed but kept a great attitude.

Knox rolled off third in his feature and knew he needed a strong start to contend for the win. At the drop of the green flag he stayed glued to the leader for the first lap before settling into third. He ran great lines and applied pressure to the leaders, but they stayed strong and didn’t leave an opening. Knox finished with a solid third-place run. He was excited to get his trophy and said he had fun—he just wished he could’ve gotten a shot at the lead!

The rest of the BCR teammates had strong days as well. Congrats to Casen and Maddy on their great performances. It’s always awesome to see these kids race each other hard and then jump out of the cars and run around together like best friends.

The final event for the indoor series will be March 22nd at Extreme Indoor Karting in Clio, MI. After that, our outdoor season will begin for both the Mini Wedges and the Modified. We’re working on finalizing the schedule now, so keep an eye out for updates soon!
