The BCR team wrapped up our final trip of the season at the Extreme Mini Wedge Indoor Winter League today. The season flew by, and every driver gained valuable experienceāfrom what it takes to be fast indoors, to adapting driving styles, to experiencing both the highs of winning and the agony of defeat.
Nash had a tough start in practice when his mini wedge wouldnāt run, but with an all-hands-on-deck effort, the team diagnosed a faulty fuel pump just in time. He made it out for his heat race and drove straight to the front, taking home the checkered flag.
Knox was up next in his heat race, battling hard for the lead and finishing 3rd. Back in the pits, he wanted adjustmentsānot happy with the handling and especially not thrilled that Nash picked up a medal for his win.
Starting 3rd in his feature, Nash quickly worked his way into 2nd and began chasing down the leader. Just as he was setting up for a move, he spun coming off turn two and was sent to the tail. After working his way back through the field and dealing with a few cautions, he finished a solid 4th.
Knox started on the outside of his feature and showed the work heās been putting in all week at homeājumping to the lead in turn one. He settled into 2nd, staying glued to the leaderās bumper the entire race, but just couldnāt find the opportunity to make the pass. He brought home a strong 2nd place finish. His words after climbing out said it all: āI might not have gotten a medal in the heat race, but I got another trophy to add to my collection!ā
Teammate Casen had an impressive run, leading most of his feature, but a last-lap, last-corner incident cost him what would have been his first feature win.
The entire BCR team is proud of the progress each driver made this indoor seasonāand even more proud of how much fun they had out on the track.
Next up: outdoor racing on both pavement and dirt. Weāre working on locking in the schedule and will share updates soon!
A huge thank you to everyone who supports Team BCRāwhether behind the scenes or cheering us on at the track. None of this would be possible (or nearly as fun) without you!
