Emerald Empire Gun Club

Emerald Empire Gun Club EEGC is a local Gun club and Fi****ms Range in Springfield, Oregon. We are open to the public! Sanctioned and informal matches are regularly held at our ranges.

Our shooting and training facility includes meeting space as well as five firing ranges and an archery venue. The public shooting range consists of 36 covered firing positions with targets set up at 10, 25, 50, and 100 yards for rifle and pistol shooting. This range is open for public use with Range Safety Officers on duty to provide an enjoyable experience on a regular schedule that is adjusted f

or winter and summer hours as well as Sighting In Days in the fall. The clubhouse and multipurpose buildings provide ample space for Club meetings, special events, hunter education classes, handgun safety classes, and other training as well as for membership meetings. The spacious recreation area located at the west end of the property is a scenic area and is a great choice for picnics, Scouting events, and gatherings. The Club offers many activities with emphasis placed on the use of the ranges by members just for the pleasure of competitive shooting and socializing. Many supervised events are offered to the membership and public, including a Junior Program for younger shooters. From time to time classes are offered regarding reloading, bullet casting, handgun safety, concealed handgun permits, and Hunter Education. Please refer to the activity calendar on the website for regularly scheduled classes, registered and informal matches as well as other educational activities. Some of the more popular competitions are the Civilian Marksmanship Program matches, bench rest competitions, small bore rifle shoots, black powder matches, turkey shoots, and pistol matches. The Club also hosts an annual “Sighting-In-Days” program. Each year, thousands of hunters take advantage of this program to safely sight in their rifles prior to the opening of hunting season. The cost to the public for the use of our public range for the day is $10 for adults over age 18 and $5 for shooters age 17 and under and guests of members. There is no separate ‘per gun’ fee. Active duty military, National Guard, and reserve personel with valid identification shoot for free on the public range. The entire club operation depends on member volunteers. Members will receive credit for their work bond for the next year by volunteering on work parties, projects, program officiating, or working as a Range Master on the public range. A member can volunteer enough to earn complete credits to pay the work bond and dues for the following year.

***ONE GUN RULE REPEALED***
Beginning 8/7/25, the rifle racks are back on the public range, and the one-gun rule has been repealed. At last night's board meeting, the EEGC BOD took feedback from members and Range Masters. There was a motion made to repeal the one-gun rule. This rule hasn’t been the most popular, and we are glad to restore the public range to the "old way." We appreciate all who offered input on this process.
We are thankful for our dedicated group of volunteers. Lastly, we are thankful for all of you who come out and enjoy the club! See you on the range!

What’s wrong with this picture? Right answers only!
This is an important reminder. It is your responsibility to know the condition of your firearm at all times and what goes up, will eventually come down. Members do have the freedom to enjoy the club on the members only section and to police themselves. That being said if you have an ND (negligent discharge) please be accountable and report the damage to the club. We would rather know about it, than to find it and what wonder happened. We ALL are working together to help ensure the we ALL continue to have a safe place to shoot. Thank you for your help! Be safe!

While it is always important to remember traditions and pay homage to the founding of the club. It is also important to offer different options for our customers and members alike. We were founded and began as a place for bullseye shooters, which was very popular at the time. Our targets were set at 12 yards. This is a good distance for those who are experienced shooters.
We had a great recommendation from a Range Master about having closer set of targets for those who are newer to fi****ms. The goal was to have a set of target stands that people could learn, grow, and gain confidence. We started with a pilot project to gauge the interest and to gather the data necessary to create an actual proposal to implement closer target stands to help improve our customer experience.
The proposal was brought up at the last board meeting and was approved by the BOD. Today we built (2) stands that were placed at 7 yards. There is still some work to be done but, we are excited to be able to offer a new options for the public. Please let us know what you think next time you are out to the club. Thank you RM Brian for the suggestion. See you on the range!
