SPRINGFIELD, Vt. -- Springfield avenged its regular season loss to Windsor with a 39-6 victory over the Yellow Jackets tonight in the Division III quarterfinals.

Despite the lopsided final score, Windsor hung close throughout most of the contest.

The Cosmos started the game with a bang when Braiden Wheeler took the opening kickoff 75 yards for a score, but Windsor responded with a touchdown of its own to cut the deficit to 7-6 early in the 2nd quarter.

The margin remained at one the rest of the half and through most of the 3rd quarter until Dmitri Jasinski pounced on a fumble in the endzone to give Springfield a 14-6 edge they would take into the final period.

The Cosmos proceeded to take complete control in the fourth quarter, tacking on 25 points with touchdowns from Josiah Martinez, JP Stagner, Braiden Wheeler, and Logan Merrow, and an extra point from Haleigh Goodrich.

Next up for Springfield is a trip to Brandon to face top-seeded Otter Valley in the semifinals. The Cosmos pulled out a thrilling 19-14 victory against Otter Valley two weeks ago.

WESTMINSTER, Vt. -- The purple gang pounded their way to the next round during tonight's 52-12 victory against Milton in the Division III quarterfinals.

Bellows Falls imposed its will on the Yellow Jackets by amassing almost 400 yards on the ground while averaging over 12 yards per carry.

BF entered the half with a 24-0 advantage and scored on all four of its second half drives to bring Milton's season to a close.

Bryer Barnett (13 carries for 169 yards, 3 TD) and Jaden Bazin (13 carries for 166 yards, 2 TD) did the heavy lifting in the running game, and Brody Davignon added a receiving and a rushing touchdown for the Terriers.

Third-seeded Bellows Falls (7-2) will face the winner of tomorrow night's game between No. 2 Mount Abraham and No. 7 Mill River in the semifinals. A win by Mount Abraham would mean a trip to Bristol for BF next week, while an upset by Mill River would allow the purple gang to have one more game at Hadley Field.

The Fall Mountain Boys' Varsity Soccer team's 2026 season came to a close on Wednesday with a 1-0 defeat to Belmont in the first round of the NHIAA Division III Playoffs. The Wildcats were hosting their first home playoff game since 2013 and conceded the lone goal after 15 minutes. The home side fought back and controlled possession and the game's scoring opportunities after that; however, despite a barrage of shots and pressure in the second half, they could not find the breakthrough.

Fall Mountain finishes the season with a 10-4-2 record and bids farewell to five seniors: Quinn Mitchell, Devyn Martin, Denis Cuascota, Clynton Harris, and Keegan Antos.

Coach George Tsitsonis paid tribute to his team in the post-match comments. "It's impossible to be anything but proud watching these kids all season. We dug deep and fought so hard until the final whistle against Belmont. Playoff games are often decided by razor-thin margins, as this game was. We were brave in the different ways we attacked and created quality chances, but we couldn't manage to find the equalizer. You have to give Belmont a ton of credit; they are a senior-laden team that defended brilliantly. Quinn and Devyn were heroic in their final games in a maroon jersey. A lot of young guys grew up in front of our eyes this season, and I back us to come back stronger. We are incredibly disappointed, but I believe that when some time passes and this group looks back on this season, they too will be proud of what was accomplished."

Bellows Falls is one game away from winning back-to-back state titles after today's 4-0 victory over Otter Valley in the Division II semifinals.

Despite being defending champions, the second-seeded Terriers will be underdogs in their matchup against top seed U-32. The girls from East Montpelier have won all fourteen of their contests by multiple goals this season, including a 3-0 victory against Bellows Falls (12-3-1) on September 19.

This Sunday's game at Burr & Burton Academy will be a rematch of last year's title tilt which saw BF pull away for a 4-1 win. U-32 will be looking to get over the hump after falling short in the championship game in each of the past two seasons.

Ava Johnson scores the lone goal during Springfield's 1-0 victory in the Division II semifinals against Milton.
