I've decided menopause is just reverse puberty. 😂
Think about it.

Puberty:
✨ You get your period.
Menopause:
✨ Your period leaves without saying goodbye or you get a hysterectomy.
Puberty:
✨ You start getting random hairs.
Menopause:
✨ You start getting random hairs... just in completely different places like your chin.
Puberty:
✨ You forget your homework.
Menopause:
✨ You forget why you're standing in the kitchen holding your car keys.
Puberty:
✨ Mood swings.
Menopause:
✨ Mood swings with a credit card and Amazon Prime.
Puberty:
✨ You're embarrassed when people notice you're sweating.
Menopause:
✨ You're sweating through your shirt in the grocery store and pretending everything is completely normal.
Puberty:
✨ You stay up all night because you want to.
Menopause:
✨ You stay up all night because your body has chosen violence.

And let's discuss metabolism...
At 16, I could eat pizza at midnight and wake up looking exactly the same.
Now I walk past a bakery and my jeans start negotiating.
Who approved this system? 🤣
The good news is that age brings wisdom.
The bad news is I can't remember where I put my reading glasses.
Ladies, what's the most ridiculous menopause symptom you've experienced? Please tell me it's not just me. 😂👇

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that change isn’t always a decision—often it’s a process.

From the outside, it’s easy to look at someone’s life and see what they “should” do differently. The harder part is understanding that awareness, readiness, and action don’t always happen at the same time.

I know this personally.

At one point, I weighed 230 pounds and successfully lost the weight. But life happened. Stress happened. Health challenges happened. And over the years, some of that weight found its way back more than once.

Did I know what I needed to do? Absolutely.

But knowing and consistently implementing change are two very different things.

Real change requires more than information. It requires self-awareness, courage, patience, timing, and a willingness to keep showing up even when progress isn’t perfect.

That’s why I’ve learned to have compassion for people who are struggling. Not because I make excuses for them, but because I understand that change is rarely as simple as “just do it.”

I meet people where they are, not where I think they should be. I can support, encourage, educate, and believe in them, but I can’t do the work for them. Each person has to decide when they’re ready to take the next step.

Growth isn’t always black and white. It’s messy, imperfect, full of setbacks and lessons, and rarely happens overnight.

And sometimes the bravest thing a person can do is simply keep trying.

If I Could Turn Back Time! ⏰

If I could go back and talk to my 35-45 year old self, I’d tell her one thing:

Learn about your hormones NOW.

I wish I had understood what was happening during perimenopause and how much changing hormones impact energy, sleep, mood, muscle mass, body fat, and overall health. I’m convinced my body and health would look very different today had I known then what I know now.

In 2019, I found a provider who specializes in Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) for women and men. I’ve been on HRT for nearly 8 years, and it has been one of the best decisions I’ve made for my health.

Since then, many close friends and former clients have explored HRT after our conversations and experienced positive changes in their energy, body composition, recovery, and quality of life.

Ladies, don’t wait until you’re struggling. Educate yourself, ask questions, and find a provider who understands hormone health.

My Body Was Never the Problem… My Strategy Was

I have been the woman with the pain points.

The girl who took diet pills as a teenager and starved herself trying to be enough.

The young woman in her early 20’s who ate fast food constantly, didn’t exercise, and weighed 230 pounds.

Then I became the woman who swung completely the other direction…
Obsessive exercise.
Extreme dieting.
Punishing workouts.
Trying to shrink myself into worthiness.

In my 30’s, I ate and drank my way through NYC while building a successful career until my body finally said:
ENOUGH.

A major health crisis followed by post-operative depression and anxiety forced me to confront something deeper than weight.

At 40, I made a decision that changed my life.

I stopped chasing punishment and started pursuing wellness.

I changed my mindset.
My habits.
My nutrition.
My relationship with myself.

I became a Certified Health Coach and Personal Trainer because I wanted to inspire other women while continuing my own journey toward strength, confidence, and healing.

I even set a goal to compete in a fitness competition by 50.

Then life shifted again.

A serious car accident and severe whiplash ended my competing days followed by a partial hysterectomy.

Later, I found myself in a relationship that slowly pulled me away from the routines, boundaries, and habits that once kept me grounded.

Chronic stress.
High cortisol.
Inflammation.
Weight gain.
Exhaustion.

And once again…
I hit rock bottom.

I remember thinking:
“What is wrong with me?”

Nothing.

Nothing was wrong with me.

My body wasn’t broken.
My metabolism wasn’t failing me.
My mind and nervous system needed healing.
My hormones needed support.
My body needed recovery.
My lifestyle needed a new strategy.

That realization became THE HOT SHIFT™.

Because wellness is not just:
• counting macros
• punishing yourself in the
gym
• chasing smaller sizes
• obsessing over calories

True wellness is a state of mind.

It’s learning how to support your body through every season of life.

It’s understanding that midlife requires a different strategy.

For me, that looked like:
✨ HRT support
✨ peptide protocols
✨ age-appropriate strength
& cardio training
✨ stress management
✨ sleep optimization
✨ nervous system
regulation
✨ recovery
✨ mindset work
✨ sustainable habits

The 5 pillars of The Hot Shift™ were born from my own journey:
⚡ Energy
💪 Strength
🥗 Nutrition
🧠 Mindset
🌿 Lifestyle

Because midlife is not the end of our power.

It’s the moment we stop fighting ourselves and start supporting ourselves differently.

This is not the end.

It’s my HOT SHIFT. 🔥

And if you’re a woman navigating exhaustion, hormonal changes, weight struggles, stress, or feeling disconnected from yourself…

I want you to know:
You are not broken.
You may simply need a new strategy.

🔥 Hot Shift Truth Bomb 🔥

Change doesn’t fail because people lack motivation.
It fails because their capacity is exceeded.

When stress, poor sleep, and low energy pile up, your nervous system goes into survival mode. And in survival mode?
Even things you care deeply about—
🏋️‍♀️ weight training
🥗 eating better
⚖️ losing weight
—feel hard to start.

That’s not laziness.
That’s biology.

The solution isn’t “try harder.”
It’s build more capacity so healthy choices feel doable again.

This is the shift.
This is The Hot Shift. 🔥

👉 If this hit home, you’re not broken — you’re overloaded.

Midday crash?
Before you reach for another cup of ☕️…try a NAP.😴

Enter the Nappino.

Here’s how it works👇
☕️ Have a coffee or espresso
😴 Immediately lie down for 15–20 minutes
⚡️ Wake up right as the caffeine kicks in

By the time you open your eyes, your nervous system has downshifted, your brain has cleared the sleep pressure, and BOOM — you’re ready for action.

RAWRRR. 🐯🔥

Why napping works (especially in midlife):
✔️ Improves focus and reaction time
✔️ Reduces cortisol and stress load
✔️ Supports mood and brain health
✔️ Helps regulate energy without wrecking nighttime sleep (keep it short!)

This isn’t laziness.
This is strategic recovery.

At The Hot Shift, we don’t push through burnout —
we work with our biology.

Nap smarter.
Recover deeper.
Then go crush the rest of your day. 🔥

For decades, women have been failed by the medical establishment.

Our symptoms were minimized.
Our concerns were dismissed.
We were told hot flashes, brain fog, anxiety, weight gain, poor sleep, joint pain, and loss of vitality were “just part of aging” — and to tough it out.

Meanwhile, an entire generation of women was steered away from hormone replacement therapy out of fear, outdated data, and a lack of continued education around female physiology.

The result?
Women spent years suffering unnecessarily.

HRT is not about vanity.
It’s about brain health.
Bone health.
Cardiovascular health.
Quality of life.
Longevity.

Every woman deserves informed consent, individualized care, and access to evidence-based options — not silence or gaslighting.

I’m deeply thankful I found A Balanced Life — a place where women are listened to, educated, and supported instead of dismissed. A place that understands that midlife isn’t the end of vitality, it’s a transition that deserves care, science, and respect.

We deserve better.
And we’re finally starting to demand it. 💪
