Smitty's Mid-West Boxing Gym is a inner-city gym started by Coach Smitty a former boxer himself who has been in boxing since 1974, been on the All Army boxing Team, former Kansas City open Division Golden Gloves Champion, north Carolina State Golden Gloves Champion and has won over 30 Golden Gloves Championships around missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Arkansas. He trains boxing the old school way h

e goes back to the basics and really cares about each and everyone of his boxers whether they are training for competition or just to get into great shape! He also teaches speech class, and has a computer lab in the back of his gym for kids to complete homework after school before and after working out. He has volunteer tutoring for those who need it so they can maintain the C+ average that he demands of his students that are still in school. His goal is to keep kids off the streets and to help them to become productive citizens of society.
