Birthdays are great but track meets are better !

For the 3rd year in a row we have been at a track meet for Callan’s birthday!
This year’s birthday was a trip to the AAU primary National Championships in Jacksonville FL.

Day 1: Callan placed 8th in the shot put. Taking home his All American honor for outdoor track. (Still 6 years old)
Day 2: Callan came back with a massive 10 foot PR in the Javelin to take 7th for his 2nd All American honor. To round out the day he ran the 1500m in 109° heat to take 4th place and capturing his 3rd All American honor of the meet. (Finally 7 years old)

Callan has now been an AAU All American 7 times. 2023 Cross Country (3rd place ). 2024 Indoor Track (1500 2nd place, 80 3rd place and long jump 8th place ) .

2nd Annual Western Mass. Summer Mini Meet

Saturday June 29, 2024, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Minnechaug High School, Wilbraham MA

All-weather track, bleachers, toilets

A mid-summer track & field meet for all ages with an emphasis on youth Supported by USA Track & Field – New England

Eligibility – Age division is age on day of event

6/Under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-18

Open/Masters (age 19+) events

A signed waiver is a requirement for all competitors

Entry – Limited to 2 running and 1 field event

Pre-Enter by day, June 26 at 10:00 p.m..

at Athletic.net - Pre-Entry Fee: $10 first event, $5 for 2nd and 3rd events

Limited day of event entry - $15 first event, $10 each additional event

Field Events: 10:00 start. May take attempts any time during the meet Age 14/under – 3 attempts Age 15+ – 4 attempts

TurboJav Youth only(300g 12/under, implements provided by meet) 11/12 450 aero Jav, 13/14 600 g 15+ 600 Women 800g men to be provided by athlete

Track Events: 10:30 start. Events run in order, Young to Old

USATF Rules apply in events

No starting blocks for ages 14/under

Race Day Procedures

- At registration, all competitors will be issued a number to be pinned on the front of the shirt. Announcements will be made for each event.

- Parents and coaches are NOT allowed on the infield

- Results will be posted onsite at meet and on athletic.net on Sunday
