Three days until your 2026 American Power Boat Association Inboard Nationals!! Weather is looking good and boats are already on their way! Here is the link for the live stream for the weekend. We are looking to do a live stream test run on Friday from 11a-1p for the boat test session so keep an eye out for that link. Thanks to Drone

This is from a former rookie whose first race might have been Decatur. Any Guesses?

"To my fellow racers that are considered newbies, rookies, or just plain unverified throttle jockeys……………. I want to offer this small bit of humble advice.

Thom Heins and Jeremy Smith are your Decatur Pit Bosses. If they tell you where to park or how to park, just do it without any lip! Don’t worry about silly things. Just trust Thom and Jeremy. They have a grand plan, and they own the pit area. Don’t drink a Monster Energy drink every 10 miles and act like an incapacitated trader on the NY stock exchange losing millions in minutes. Approach the gate in a cool calm manner and you will be parked quickly and efficiently and treated with the utmost respect.

Trackside Registration - One week away for the 2026 APBA Inboard Nationals

We will be doing registration outside this year near the BeachHouse. In previous years the Friday Registration Party and VIP/Sponsor meet & greet was inside the BeachHouse. We quickly outgrew that venue.

Friday from 4p-7p registration will be under the big beer tent in the food vendor parking lot adjacent to the pit area. We are providing free food and beverages with a cash bar that supports the event.
For registration we will have several stations set up to help you through Trackside. For many of you it will be a smooth easy process.

Crew and active APBA Members will just need your APBA membership card. You will sign the waiver, get your hot pit pass and be on your way.

Drivers & Owners you will use Trackside to advance register. You can do this today, tomorrow, at midnight, in the shower, while eating dinner or whenever you please. Don’t forget once you register you need to complete the pre-check in. This is done on Trackside as well. This is where you will digitally sign the waiver, upload a selfie (license photo) of yourself, and type required info (APBA #, Club Name, DOB). Once that is done you will go to the registration table on Friday, scan the QR code that was given to you and you’ll be done. To some of you this sounds confusing and daunting. We understand that and have people on the ready with internet and laptops to make it easy for you and help.

Bring hard copies of your dunk test and physical. You should have uploaded these already into Trackside but do the safe thing and have these hard copies ready.

One thing I must stress – Have your Trackside username and password ready!! Have the email account that you use for Trackside easily accessible. Also, no cash or checks are being accepted. Credit cards or debit cards only.

If you require a single event pass or want to sign up for a full APBA membership we got you covered as well. This is also done by Trackside. We will have a station set up at registration for you as well. Again – set up your Trackside account before getting in line at registration and have your Trackside username and password ready.

Owners and drivers. There is no paper registration for Decatur APBA Inboard Racing Nationals. You can register with Trackside anytime you like from now until Saturday morning of the race when registration ends.There will be registration and check in Friday of the race pretty much all day and officially from 4p-7p during our sponsorship party. The party is being held outdoors this year. Free food and non alcoholic drinks (cash bar).
Trackside will be used by all owners and drivers to register for Decatur. No cash or checks will be taken on site. If you need help with Trackside we will have people there to walk you through it. If you have an APBA membership, you have already used Trackside so keep your username and password handy. If you are not a owner or driver and already have an APBA membership, bring your APBA card, sign the waiver and you'll get your credentials. No Trackside is needed. If you need access to the hot pits you must be an APBA member. You can either get a full membership or single event membership. Several people have already got a hold of me and have asked for assistance and that is much appreciated. We can answer any questions you have and can easily get you through the process but you have to ask for help if you need it. Please don't wait until the last minute.
