The club competes within USA Rugby and is part of of the Great Midwest Conference (Division II). Which includes clubs from the Chicago area, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. The regular season for GMW is played in the Fall along with the Midwest Collegiate Playoffs. The spring consists of USA Rugby Men's Collegiate Division II playoffs and friendly matches and tournaments
with other university and men's clubs. Lance is a native of Rotorua, New Zealand and has been playing/coaching the sport of rugby for over 45 years. for Middle Tennessee State University and coached at the collegiate level for Michigan State, MTSU and UIC before arriving at Loyola. In his first season with the Ramblers, Lance led us to a national Sweet 16 finish and a 5-1 conference record. Recruiting:
The club has a very active and strong alumni network throughout Chicago and the United States. They are eager to help out current students and recent graduates with internships and job placement opportunities. For several years the club has been attracting experienced players from all across the United States to join the club.
