Stock Outboard This is the official page of the APBA Stock Outboard Category. Runabouts tend to be a bit slower than hydroplanes and can be harder to handle.

Hydroplanes have a three-point design—only the two front sponsons and the propeller touch the water. Air is trapped underneath, causing the boat to lift and ride on this cushion of air, skimming across the surface of the water. There are virtually no restrictions on design or dimensions

Runabouts slice through the water rather than skim over the surface. Turning is an art, and it can be work just

to keep the boat level—similar to driving a motocross dirt bike. Runabout have certain length, width and weight restrictions.

APBA Outboard Racing returns to Lock Haven, PA on the West Branch Susquehanna River. Drivers from all over the Country have traveled to gain points towards becoming the High Points Champion in their respected class. Different Categories of Outboards will hit the water:
• Stock Outboard – A, 15, B, 20, 25, C and D Hydro And Runabout
• Mod Outboard – FA, A, B, C, D and FE Hydro And Runabout
• Junior Outboard – J and AX Hydro
– J and AX Runabout

Available SORC Engines:

(UPDATE) The SORC currently has ONE 300SSH sealed engine for sale, it is a 302. Come with a 300SSH propeller, and can be purchased for $3750.

(UPDATE: THIS MOTOR HAS BEEN SOLD! The SORC also has a 331 Yamato new in the box that can be a 300SSH engine or made into a C Stock engine. Price is $3999. This engine can be purchased by a Stock Outboard member. We would prefer that it be sold to a new racer or someone who is stepping up into the Yamato classes.)

All engines can be brought to Lock Haven this upcoming weekend!
