Winter Steelhead fishing has been good... go fishing with Trevin!

Easily the best season I’ve seen so far… and it’s still EARLY! I have the 8th 9th 23rd and 28th left open in February and some dates in March! You don’t want to miss this season. I think it’s only going to get better! Fishing the central Oregon coast!

Looks like the Bass Pro acquisition of Sportmans Warehouse is a "no go". I'm ok with that... feel like Bass Pro would have ruined a good store.

Sportsman’s Warehouse Holdings Inc., a retailer for outdoor equipment, slipped in late trading after announcing its planned merger with the owner of the Bass Pro Shops chain was canceled.

That's a wrap... Danz Outdoors is closing! I appreciate all the great customers and friends I've been lucky to form in the past 6 years.

The phone has already been shut off, call me at 408 505-6229 as I will be at the store slowly tearing down. All product will be 20% off. Anyone interested in smaller freezers, a large commercial refrigerator, display case, display racks, pegs/pegboard, etc... come on down.

The biggest point making my decision is when I asked myself, "Where is fishing going to be in 3 to 5 years?" Social media is NOT helping anything other than feeding lots of self entitlement and egos to a declining natural resource... everyone can find hours to go fishing, but none to go volunteer or attend an ODFW meeting to better educate yourself of problems (NOT FACEBOOK).

There is a good chance I may open back up under a different iteration, but the current "small custom tackle shop" pays for itself, but doesn't make much money. Thank you for your patronage. Tight lines. I hope to see you again.

Note the 3rd row (high lighted 2019/2020) to represent the amount of smolt released for the 2022 return season. You need to multiply the # of smolt released X a 2% survival rate and that will be a ballpark guestimate return (assuming no anomalies). Note the McKenzie River release for 2020/2021 due to fire... will be interesting what we see in 2023/2024.

Time to get involved and save our fishing!

Attention... one of the most asked questions lately is if there will be any coho retention INSIDE the river this year, not to be confused with Non-Select Coho season out in the ocean starting this weekend, Sept 10.

Yes, there are a few select rivers (Tillamook, Nestucca, Siletz, and Coos) that you will be allowed to retain one wild coho starting Sept. 15 for these rivers only, Umpqua, Siuslaw, and Alsea ARE NOT included in this wild coho retention... read the ODFW notice below.

-can keep 1 wild adult (20"+) coho from Nestucca or Tillamook for the season in aggregate, NOT 1 per basin.
-can keep 1 wild adult coho for the season from Siletz basin.
-can keep 1 wild adult coho per day, 2 in total for the season in Coos River Basin.

I have Orange Label Harbor herring ON SALE for $4.50/tray to help catch all those Non-Select coho in the ocean!

We have our first batch of Harbor Herring Green Label herring in. Started with 30 cases yesterday and down to this the next day... yikes, get it while it lasts.
