Andrew walked into our first personal training session with some persistent shoulder limitations and aches that had never been properly diagnosed, yet always present. It took time for his neck and traps to stop compensating so his back could fully engage, and for his anterior chain to stop doing all the work.
But what truly stands out about Andrew is his unwavering discipline and determination despite his busy work schedule. For the first three months, we only trained twice a week. Now, we’ve ramped up to three sessions a week, and once he began to feel better, his desire to push further only grew. It’s been incredible to watch this positive momentum build.
Andrew is a prime example of why a personalized approach matters. Sure, you can find workout programs online, but they often don’t address specific limitations or imbalances. There were muscles he simply couldn’t engage at first, so we had to start with lighter, more targeted exercises. But once his shoulder started cooperating, his body began responding—and we saw noticeable changes in just a few weeks.
Last night, during a row, I noticed how his shoulders were finally aligned—behind his earlobes instead of in front, with no forward rounding. Looking back this morning, I was amazed at how much his physique has transformed.
This is why documentation is key. Take those starting photos, even if you don’t feel great about where you are now. You’ll be so grateful for them when you start seeing the results.💪🏻
