Picked up this Rawlings Pro Preferred PRO200-6K 12.25” glove. Once again, stop putting your glove in your bag. Cleaned, conditioned, new laces, removed the heal padding and brought it back to life. Really like this glove for third base or outfield. I think it would also make a great glove for softball. As much as I like it, I don’t need another glove. If you are interested in it, hit me up.

I am late to the game, but this is the best baseball book I have read in a long time. If you are a baseball nerd, this is a must read. The data driven training approach is replacing the sabermetrics era. Points to the way forward for building better players.

Three things I wish would leave youth baseball. 1) portable sp...

Three things I wish would leave youth baseball. 1) portable speakers. Your kid does not need walk up music. Half the time the parent doesn’t know when to turn it off. At most complexes you can hear 14 speakers at any time. And most are either playing “Baby Shark” or “Loud and Heavy” 2) your kid doesn’t need a sliding mitt. They are never ready to take a sign when they get to first. They slow down the game while raising my blood pressure. Half the time your kid forgets to slide anyway. Glad I am seeing these phase out at the college level. Hopefully it trickles down to youth. 3) Pitt Vipers. I just don’t like these. Nothing actually wrong with them. Just hate them. Glad they are on the way out. 4) while not pictured, loud parent set up right behind home plate who argues everything. Relax, watch the game, cheer for your kid, nobody cares in 10 years, your kid hates it when you yell at the ump/coach/other team, you ruin the game for everyone, etc

It is Friday so I thought I would bring back Follow Friday. If you like S&C and baseball development, give and a follow. I met these guys a couple months ago and again last week They are looking at S&c and movement in a unique way. I have really enjoyed their unique perspective. It has challenged a lot of my thought processes on baseball development.
