Tonite was very special for me as a teacher of the Martial Arts! I've been working with this young man for many years and watched him grow as a student as well as a father with a beautiful family! He works hard and is doing all the right things in his life! With that I awarded him the rank of Black Belt- 1st Degree in the American Karate system! I've awarded rank to many students over the years but Chris stayed the course with his training and is my first Black Belt! Black Belt is the real beginning of the journey and the rewards for perseverance are many as a person seeking self understanding through the discipline of Martial Arts training! Well done Chris! 👍

Congratulations to Alina on promotion to blue belt in the American Karate System. She's worked hard and stayed consistent with her practice and it showed in her self defense, Kata and sparring! A great test!

We've had classes outside for most of the summer and and fall, including this week! Maintaining safe distances and no contact! Lot's of forms training, my students have grown immensely in the discipline and I am proud of them for sticking with it! A major life lesson indeed! Don't Give Up!

JLS Martial Arts had it's first class on Zoom tonite! It went well and we are going to continue on with this format until normalcy returns! Yeah! It was good to see my students again and interact with them! Don't Give Up!
