Day 23/60šŸ”„

It’s a bit of a read, so I appreciate it if you get through it😁

I’ve been seeing so much ā€œscience based liftingā€ content while scrolling lately that I had to talk about it.

It is genuinely such a lazy way to train. Can you build a lot of muscle with it? Sure. Can you build just as much if not more muscle just lifting heavy with good form and a full range of motion? Absolutely!

They get some stuff right. Specifically, the focus on progressive overload and sticking to the same exercises for a long period of time.

But…

The way they go about it drives me crazy. ā€œStandardized ROMā€ might be the worst one. Basically, as long as your form on all your reps looks similar the range of motion doesn’t matter. Or what it looks like to me… ā€œThis part of the lift is hard, so I’m going to stop the rep here, but it’s okay because I’m pushing hard and my form is consistentā€šŸ˜‘

It used to be common for people to try to get stronger in the most difficult portion of a lift. These days they just don’t do that portion and use ā€œscienceā€ as an excuse.

On top of all this, a lot of these guys will call you stupid or re****ed just because you disagree with them or choose to train a different way. If you wanna train that way then go ahead. But don’t act like your way is the only way and pretend people haven’t been getting the same or better results with other forms of training for decades.

I could continue on, but I’d be typing for a while. Just don’t be lazy in the gym. Machines are great. Free weights are great. Use both, train with intensity, and be consistent.

Oh… AND HAVE FUN!

Don’t train like a robot. Follow meā€¼ļø

Day 22/60šŸ”„

A little progress update on what my body is looking like.

I still have a good bit of fat to lose in the front and I absolutely hate videoing with my shirt off still…

At least my back is looking leanšŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™‚ļø

And that last bit with the straps… I’m just really tired of the people that say, ā€œif your grip isn’t the limiting factor your back is just weak.ā€

My grip could’ve kept going in that set, but my back was fried. I can do almost 20 full ROM pull-ups at over 200lbs body weight. I promise my back isn’t weak.

Day 20/60šŸ”„

A third of the way there. I’ve definitely not been as strict as I want to be with my diet, so it’s time to focus up. I have a massive appetite, so when there is a chance for me to eat a lot of food I have a hard time controlling myself.

So if you love food as much as I do, the easiest way to lose weight is:
āœ…not keeping a lot of junk/snacky food in the house
āœ…avoid eating out (obviously)
āœ…eating high volume, low calorie meals (salads, chicken and potatoes…)
āœ…do more cardio and just move more in general

One bad meal will not destroy your progress… BUT DON’T LET IT HAPPEN AGAINā€¼ļø

(I’m speaking to myself)

Day 19/60šŸ”„

Missed a couple, but I’m back.

Basically all I want you to get out of this videošŸ’”

ā€¼ļøJust because you have some pain somewhere in your body, does not mean you should be skipping the gymā€¼ļø

One of the biggest things that will halt your gym progress is regularly skipping because you have some kind of pain.

If you go to the gym regularly and train with intensity, there is a good chance something is going to start hurting at some point.

I’m not saying push through it. I’m saying to work around it and do some exercises that will hopefully help fix the pain eventually, so you can stay consistent and reach your goals.

I was hurting today, but I still got in the gym and actually improved on my bench from last time without aggravating my back.

Obviously don’t be stupid if you have a legit injury, but pain here and there is not an excuse to skip!

Day 16/60šŸ”„

Was very tempted to be lazy and not record anything, but not letting that happen again.

I’m locked in, feeling strong, and confident I can get to the leanest I’ve ever beenšŸ’Ŗ

A balanced diet of meat, healthy fats and carbs, fruits, and vegetables has worked for people for years…

But now this shredded shirtless dude with a concerningly red skin complexion eating raw meat is telling me vegetables have no nutritional value and seed oils are out to murder me and my family.

And this slightly chunky, but really strong looking vegan guy is telling me cows get sad when you milk them and meat is going to kill me.

Yep… I’m gonna choose one of the extreme options that eliminates entire food groups, because extreme is always better. Right guys? Right?šŸ™„

There are tons of insane athletes and people that have lived very long healthy lives thanks to their balanced diets and an ā€œeverything in moderationā€ mindset.

Eat whatever you want. I don’t care. But don’t go acting like you’re better than anybody else because you eat a certain way.

Rant over.

Every person online that was able to fix their really bad knees swears by backwards walking… let’s give it a go and see if it’s legitšŸ”„

I plan on doing these every day along with some other stuff that will hopefully fix my knees.

Get your cardio in!šŸ”„

The new tank/sled is easily going to be my most used cardio piece this year. Loving it so far!

I’m convinced there’s some form of cardio for everybody to enjoy. Experiment and figure out what you like. Cardio is important!
