Springfield/Clark County Baseball Hall of Fame, Inc. The Springfield/Clark County Hall of Fame was established as the Springfield Old Timers in 1959 with the induction of Pat Donahue.

It was reestablished after an 11-year hiatus in 2002. The Hall of Fame was incorporated in September 2009.

The Conscious Connect Community Development Corporation (CDC) unveiled its second Ohio Historical Marker during a dedication in Springfield to honor Brooks Lawrence, a “talented all-around athlete that used sports to create social change.”

The community is invited to celebrate the life and legacy of — a Springfield native, World War II Bronze Star veteran, Major League Baseball All-Star, and the first Black player inducted into the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame — with the unveiling of his Ohio Historical Marker.

Let’s come together to celebrate a trailblazer who would have turned 100 this year — for making history on and off the field. We will host this event in partnership with the Ohio History Connection and Springfield City School District.
