I tell people that if you must buy a suit to alter , it is better to go too big than too little , but sometimes you just have to work with what you have . we let this suit out in the torso to accept an airbag , shortened the sleeves at the cuffs and installed a new cuff trim , raised the knees 2.5 inches and enlarged the thighs . calves , and crotch 2 inches using high flow schoeler dynatec and turned it around for him in 3 days.

Cleaning and repairs . we recommend a deep cleaning on a race suit at least once a year. usually in the fall after the season is over. no need letting the microbes from the dirt and sweat eat on your leathers all winter . sweat is hard on a leather suit . we can address the road rash too . if a seam has been scuffed we restitch it for the heat from the slide compromises the thread . You don't want a seam or a zipper to pop at the races and there is no one there to stitch it up . the best to all B Bill

we do lettering, numbers, and alterations . real leather letters hand cut and sewn that won't scrub off the first time you hit the pavement or come off in the cleaning process like painted ones. this suit also got an upper torso let out . if you look really close you can see where we added the enlargement panels down the chest and down the sleeve so his airvest would fit. Most people would never know your suit was altered if you didn't tell them . that is what we strive for. the best to all B Bill

I haven't posted anything in a while . Guess I have been busy with repairs and alterations. Lots of alterations and there is always something to do around here on the farm. I haven't even gotten a sail in yet this year though I have been working on two boat restorations . here's a suit that was in last week for a much needed cleaning and crash damage repairs . Two years ago when he dragged an old worn out euphonium home with a stuck valve and more dents that one of my old race bikes he said he was going to learn to play it right into a college scholarship . well two more euphoniums later , countless trips to Campbellsville for lessons , a stint at UK last summer in GSA , 1st chair in all district , 3rd chair in all state , second chair in Cambellsville Honors Band and countless hours of taking over the shop at night for practice . He has done exactly what he said he would do . I am a proud Papa .

Today, senior David Burns signed with Campbellsville University. He will begin in the fall as a member of the Tiger Marching Band and music education major. We are so proud of him!

Nothing really major here . Securing the stingray pads back into the hip leather and gluing in some reinforcement inside , replacing a stripe and sewing everything up and making it pretty again. That is how my Tuesday went . B Bill

Well another riding season has arrived . It's my 30th season sewing and repairing leathers in the shop . Greetings to all . It's been awhile since I made a post and contrary to rumors that i retired I am still working in the sewing shop . Here is a repair we did on a new custom suit that came in last Thursday ( 8/18 ) that we turned around pretty quick ( it got a cleaning ) for a fraction of the cost of replacing it . Summer is winding down quickly here and i haven't had the sailboat in the water yet , but it's on my to do list . the best to all . stay well , stay safe . b bill and darethea

We have been doing some repairs and alterations this season. Some more extensive than others . Here's a technic suit that had seen better days that we breathed some new life into for a few more seasons.
