If you are in a difficult season right now, I want to share this with you…
✨God’s promise of a hope and future in Jeremiah 29 was given IN THE MIDST of Israel‘s exile in Babylon.
✨Babylon was a beautiful city, but it wasn’t their home. The people of Babylon were bringing the Israelites to their city to use them. They had destroyed areas in Israel that held deep meaning to the Israelites. The Babylonians were seeking their own gain and advancement in this process.
✨In Jeremiah 29, God’s reassuring them IN THE MIDST of captivity. Verses 12-13 state “in those days when you pray (while in Babylon), I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly (in good times, and in difficult seasons), you will find me. I will be found by you," says the Lord.
✨Like the Israelites in Babylon, God is reassuring us that he is still at work even when we are in “Babylon." God’s plan continues despite the lack of tangible evidence.
✨God’s plan for a good future may happen THROUGH us…through our extended hands and listening ears. We are to bring God’s kingdom to earth now. We are called to be the light in dark places.
✨IN THE MIDST of this surrendered life, God will provide incredible COMMUNITY, PEACE and HEALING that the world doesn’t understand.
✨Verse 14 states that the Lord will end their captivity and restore their fortunes. He vowed to gather them out of the foreign environment at the appointed time and bring them home.
✨He will do the same for you! This is the hope! He is WITH US in the trials. He sees us and hears our hearts’ cries. And he is compassionate and loves us deeply. He has a GOOD PLAN and a BEAUTIFUL FUTURE for you and for me. If your present situation feels hopeless, know that there is a power and strength that is beyond what you can imagine.
✨Stay the course, keep your eyes on Christ, and hold on tight to the truth He has spoken❤️.
