The Town of Springfield, with their friendly smiles and welcoming hearts, embraced me as one of their own. Over the years, Springfield has been a constant source of love and inspiration. As I stand here, filled with gratitude, I cannot help but express my heartfelt appreciation to the town and the people of Springfield. You have not only welcomed me into your community but have also given me a sense of purpose and belonging that I will forever cherish. Springfield, you are my home, and I am eternally indebted to you for the love and support you have bestowed upon me.
To the school of Springfield, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. These past years have been some of the most fulfilling of my life, and it's all thanks to the opportunity you gave me to live out my dream of being a high school baseball coach. You allowed me the freedom to run the program the way I envisioned, and for that, I am eternally grateful. You blessed me with incredible kids and parents who believed in me, who supported our vision, and who pushed these young men to be their best. Together, we achieved so much: a quarterfinal run where we were one pitch away from the state tournament, and the following year, a journey that culminated in reaching the state tournament itself, facing off against Doyle in the semi-finals. It wasn't my skill or strategy that made these things happen, it was the foundation Springfield built within these young men. You were the ones who nurtured them from childhood to adulthood, instilling in them the work ethic, courage, and opportunities to become successful individuals. My role was simply to share their story with the world, to explain to the newspaper how truly remarkable these young men were, a reflection of the incredible community that shaped them. Springfield, you were more than a school, you were a family, a force that built character and created memories that will last a lifetime.
I also want to thank you for this past week. I serve an AMAZING God who used Springfield High School to make this situation occur in my life. I don’t know if it's because I need to pray more and cuss less, but nevertheless, God allowed this to happen. I guess He wanted me to stop taking things for granted and I needed a little motivation for my life looking forward. I have no idea what my career has in store for me but I promise you one thing, the fire that ignites my passion for coaching baseball burns brighter than ever before. I look forward to seeing you year after year on the diamond!
Thank you to everyone and GOD BLESS!
