Boys fell short today losing 4-0, finishing their season with a record of 25-8. Really sad the summer is over. I had an absolute blast with this group of young men and their families. You made me a better coach, dad and person… Thank you!
It all started in the offseason. We put goals in place and they worked hard to achieve them. Every player got better, I can say that with confidence. They set the tone for Springfield and the Elite organization. The effort and energy they bring to practice and the ballpark, always impressive. I received numerous compliments from other coaches on how our boys never walked on the field, how they battled, backed up every throw , moving on every pitch, and how they run the bases etc….. The little things that make a coach the most proud.
We finish with a solid record, made it to every Sunday bracket play (top level), a few championship games and a tourney win. Thoroughly excited for the future of this group. Goals are set and lots of hard work ahead. The future of baseball in Central Illinois is bright!
