In February, NWAHA suffered a great loss. Alex Sprandel had been a member of the NWAHA family since 2017 and passed away unexpectedly on February 28th.
Alex, #21 - Defense, was a dedicated teammate, a strong defensive player and winner of the coaches sharp shooter trophy. He was a valued member of the first NWAHA hockey team to bring home a Championship. The 2020 Bantam team brought home our very first Blue Note Cup. Alex was an Ice Hog until the end of his High School eligibility.
The Sprandel family will be holding a memorial for him, 12th April in the families hometown of Wood Dale Illinois. As it may be difficult for many to make the trip, we can still join together to honor of our friend and teammate, with a sticks out celebration on April 12th.🏒
