With the opener just a couple days away I am finishing up all my rigging. Game fish season opens Saturday May 2nd. This means lots of walleyes and pike trips. May and June are typically great months for these multi species trips. This will be my 26th guiding season here in the Hayward area of NW WI.

Well a new season is quickly approaching! Excited to get back after it. Even though I am primarily known for my musky trips, our open water season typically starts with trips for smallmouth, largemouth, and crappies. Usually lots of action with some big fish in the mix. May is prime time for these trips. Once inland game fish season is open we also mix in lots of walleye and pike trips. Always looking to get some new faces in the boat so lets get out on the water! It has been another amazing Fall in the Recon! Despite the warmer than normal weather, we have been very busy catching lots of great muskies! My books are full for this season, but I am already taking bookings for next season if you want a shot at a beautiful musky. Lots of big tigers again this year. I do think the Hayward area is definitely a destination for trophy tiger muskies. Finishing up my 25th year of guiding here. Entering year 26 for Fish Hunts Guide Service. I had one more day with Rick and Dalton today. Rick scored on a boatside grab then missed a couple more that just wouldn't stay pinned. Dalton got a couple pike but the muskies eluded him today. Don't worry he will be back for more! As will most of my clients! Get on the schedule for 2023.
