So what IS the Bobbie Henderson Legacy Horse Show?

This one is hard to explain without first explaining Bobbie.

A lot of people probably don’t know that, before Bobbie passed, we had already been planning a farm horse show with her for about two weeks. When we lost her that September, we decided to go forward with the show and renamed it the Bobbie Henderson Legacy Horse Show in her honor.

That first show happened the same month we lost her. Now, four full years later, September still carries a lot of meaning for us. It’s both Bobbie’s birthday month and the month we said goodbye to her, so this show has become one of the ways we come together each year to remember her and keep her legacy and mission alive.

Bobbie loved the horse show atmosphere, but even more than that, she loved the opportunity to show people just how beautiful and giving horses can be. So many of the horses at Sarajevo came to us after being abused, neglected, unwanted, or simply needing another chance. And somehow, after everything they’ve been through, they are still willing to trust again. They teach. They work hard. They carry our riders. They spend their days giving back to the people around them.

That was something Bobbie believed in deeply, and it’s still at the heart of what we do today.

The Legacy Horse Show is a day to celebrate our riders and horses, welcome our community onto the farm, and remember the woman who believed so strongly in what these horses could do for people.

We hope you’ll come experience a little bit of that with us on September 12.

The Bobbie Henderson Legacy Horse Show will be here before we know it, and we’re so excited for our 5th year of sharing our love of horses with the community!

Over the next month, we’ll be sharing more about what you can expect on show day, some behind-the-scenes sneak peeks, sponsor spotlights, ways to get involved, and all the fun we have planned.

One of our biggest goals this year is to get more of our community involved. Follow our page because we’ll be posting ways you can help: volunteering, sponsorships, donations, sharing, and more.

A huge thank-you to everyone who helped make this new shade shed possible for our horses!

This project was made possible through the generosity of Melissa Stein, who donated the shelter for the horses. We are so grateful for her kindness and support!

Thank you also to Henderson Turf Farms for lending us their incredibly talented welder, Juan Garcia, who spent several days building and welding the structure with the help of our farmhand, Juan Alberto. Several of our wonderful young ladies also volunteered their time to paint the entire structure to help protect it from rust.

It truly took a team to bring this project together and, as you can see, the horses already love their new place to relax and get out of the sun! Thank you to everyone who gave their time, talents, and resources to care for our herd. 💕🐎

We are inviting all Sarajevo Stables students and their families to experience the exciting world of American Saddlebreds and learn more about the horse shows they often hear their instructors and other riders talking about.

Join us for a fun evening featuring live riding demonstrations, show horses, interactive activities, educational presentations, and a closer look at what goes into preparing both horse and rider for the show ring. This is a great opportunity to ask questions, meet members of our show team, and see another side of Sarajevo Stables!

So stinking proud of our show team at the Brown County Charity Horse Show! These riders and horses have put in so much hard work, and it was so fun to see that work be rewarded in the ring.

More than anything, we are proud of the way everyone rode, helped, encouraged each other, and loved on their horses. That’s what makes this team so special.

A huge thank you to all the parents for the early mornings, long days, hauling, helping, cheering, and supporting every step of the way. We truly couldn’t do it without you! 💙
