Boat Pose: The Most Hated Pose in Yoga? 🚣
Let's be honest. Nobody walks into class hoping for boat pose. We've heard it all: "I can't do boat pose I get seasick." "My abs are staging a protest." "Can we just skip to savasana?"
And yet... your core, your balance, and your hip flexors are all quietly thanking you every single time you hold it.
Why we incorporate it into practice anyway:
✅ Fires up your entire core
✅ Strengthens hip flexors and spine stabilizers
✅ Builds the balance that keeps you steady on stairs, ice, and life in general
✅ Improves digestion by actively engaging and compressing the abdominal organs
Variations:
🔹 Bend the knees, feet stay on the floor. Helpful if you are building strength and you feel boat pose in your lower back.
🔹 Hold under the thighs for support while you build strength.
🔹 Use a strap around the legs and the back.
Lets hear your thoughts....
Do you love boat pose it is your jam / or do you groan inwardly or out loud when we come to a seat a little early in the practice?
Tag your favorite boat pose buddy. Misery loves company, but so does core strength. 😉
