First, thank you all for the overwhelming engagement, positive comments, and thoughtful questions regarding the exciting improvements underway at Cypresswood.
We truly appreciate hearing from our golfers and value the passion you have for the property. To help keep everyone informed, we've compiled answers to some of the most common questions we've received about the construction projects, timelines, and what's coming next.
❓ Cypresswood Frequently Asked Questions ❓
WHY IS THE CYPRESS COURSE CLOSING?
The Cypress Course closed June 1st temporarily to allow for a significant phase of improvements that will enhance the overall golfer experience for years to come.
This work includes a complete renovation of Cypress course greens, doubling them in size and re-grassing with Platinum TE Paspalum turf grass, infrastructure upgrades, cart path improvements, new connections around the clubhouse, practice facilities, and putting green, as well as other enhancements that support the future vision of Cypresswood.
The course is expected to remain closed for approximately three months. While our goal is to reopen around Labor Day Weekend, construction and weather conditions can impact timelines. We will continue to share updates as progress is made on our social media pages, so make sure to follow us.
WHAT IMPROVEMENTS ARE BEING MADE?
Several exciting projects are currently underway, including:
• New clubhouse development
• Enhanced practice facilities and putting green
• Extensive cart path improvements and connectivity
• Infrastructure enhancements throughout the property
• Preparation for future amenities and experiences
• The Landing, a 2-acre putting course
These investments are designed to improve playability, accessibility, and the overall guest experience.
ARE CART PATHS BEING IMPROVED?
Yes. A significant amount of cart path work is being completed during the Cypress Course closure. Much of this work focuses on creating new connections between the golf course, clubhouse, putting green, and practice range to improve flow and accessibility throughout the property.
These upgrades represent some of the most important behind-the-scenes improvements taking place during construction.
WHAT IS FIREFLY NIGHT GOLF?
Cypresswood is owned and managed by the same team behind The Firefly Course at Lozano Golf Center in Corpus Christi, Texas, one of the region's premier illuminated golf experiences.
As part of the Cypresswood transformation, guests can look forward to a state-of-the-art Musco lighting system that will power both the practice facilities and front 9 holes of the Cypress Course, creating a unique after-dark golf experience unlike anything else in the area.
