What an incredible weekend at Short Course Sectionals in Justin, TX!
Our high school athletes rose to the occasion, overcoming fatigue from a demanding high school season to conquer fears, step out of their comfort zones, and achieve their goals. Due to the high volume of dual meets, invitationals, and championship rounds, these athletes swim two to three times more often than our age group and developmental programs. Despite multiple tapers and a rigorous schedule of morning and afternoon workouts, they found a way to excel. 😊
We celebrated multiple gold medal swims, new time standards, personal bests, and numerous top-40 individual and relay finishes. While we narrowly missed our goal of a top-10 finish we placed 11th which our highest sectionals finish to date, the effort displayed was a major win for SSAN. As we often say, a win isn’t always a best time—it is doing your best.👏🏻
The heart, determination, team culture, and grit shown this weekend were among the best in our team’s 18-year history. 🎉Congratulations to the 22 athletes who swam, cheered, and worked together to make this success possible.
A special shout-out to Micah Tennison for being named the High Point Runner-Up. Fresh off gold medal performances at the High School State meet, he brought the fire all weekend with three additional gold medal swims.
We also want to recognize our Class of 2026 Seniors—Natalie, Taylor, Reiya, John, and Jack Henry—who just competed in their final Spring Sectionals with us. We have no doubt they will continue to be successful in all their future endeavors.
Thank you to our incredible coaches and parents for your support Together, we helped our athletes reach their goals and achieve outstanding success.
