We are proud to announce long time SC teacher and Boys JV Soccer Coach Joe Gelaro as the new Girls Soccer Coach!

Coach Gelaro will be holding a Girls Soccer Meeting
Tomorrow (Wednesday) @ Lunch in room, F103 (Mr. Gelaro’s Room) for All returning and interested players for next season!

Retiring

Happy Sunday Cougar Nation. It is impossible to thank everyone over the last 23 years who has supported and helped build our program. I have been so blessed to have had the best student athletes, families, coaches, and school staff that any coach could ever hope for and I can never thank each of you enough for all your support and love over the last 23 years of the Girls Soccer Program.

Even though I won’t be here physically anymore, I will always be here in spirit cheering on our new soccer coach and I know the program and school will continue to be the best in nation!

Lastly, until I see every alum personally, I’m sending HUGE hugs to all of you!

Huge shoutouts to Alums Savanna Nager graduating with her Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy from Pfeiffer University, Trinity Edwards earning her BS in Communications Science from the University of Houston, Ashley Herndon earning her BA from Lees McCrea University and Jackie Schneeman who graduated from Grand Canyon University and now is officially our Athletic Trainer at SCHS!!!!!!!

Shoutout to Cougars Ariel Hoffman and Destiny Garza and their Xolos club team for reaching the Championship game at the Copa Cabana beach soccer tournament over the weekend in Huntington Beach.

Despite losing in PKs, Ariel and Destiny scored a total of 9 goals between them in leading the Xolos to the Championship game! Congrats Ariel and Destiny🔥

Huge shoutout to Junior Nicolleta Burkhardt who set a meet and school record running a 56.28 in the 400 at the Escondido Invitational. The National record is 50.69 and the San Diego HS record is 50.74 by Olympian great Monique Henderson from Morse High School in 2000. Huge!! Congrats to Nicki and her continued success in breaking Meet records every week!

Also congrats to Junior Makayla Fairman who finished in the top 5 in the 300 Hurdles!!

We are proud to present our 2023 Player of the Year Shelby Bradle!

Shelby was presented her award by SC alum and the 2002 Player of the Year Lisa Morfey (Mix). Shelby was the first defender in school history to lead the team in goals and assists and was named to the 1st Team All Grossmont Hills League Team!

Congrats to Shelby and to all of our award winners this year!
