Sheldon Valley Sportsman's Association is excited to be hosting our 14th Annual Youth Fishing Derby.
WHEN: Saturday, May 3, 2025
WHERE: Sheldon Town Hall, County Rd 10, Sheldon MN
REGISTRATION: 7 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.
ELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS: all youth 16 & under, accompanied by parent or legal guardian.
COST: Free
RULES:
- Participants will have access to designated areas along Beaver Creek in the Sheldon area. Here's a link to the DNR web site for trout streams. Section #3 is the Sheldon area.

- Participants are welcome to fish other parts of the stream and other area streams during the derby, but you must ask landowner permission to access private property.
- Participants don't need a fishing license for this event.
- Parents and guardians do need a license to fish.
We will have volunteers to answer your questions.

LEGAL FISH:
- There is a 5 string limit, with no more than one fish over 16".
- One line allowed per participant.
- Respectfully throwback fish 6" or less.
WEIGH-IN: begins at 10:00 a.m. - ends firmly at 11:00 a.m.
LUNCH: Hot dogs, chips and water will be provided. Lunch begins after weight-in, and prizes and photos.
REGISTRATION, WEIGH-IN & PRIZES are all at the Sheldon Town Hall, County Rd 10, Sheldon, MN
