Some of you have known me as Kaiesha, Kai, or Keke.

Some have known me as the technology professional. The poet. The author. The community advocate. The entrepreneur. The speaker. The book writing coach.

And some of you have been around long enough to have watched several of those chapters unfold.

Today, I'm grateful to share another one. ❤️

I'm honored to be featured in Voyage Alabama's Inspiring Stories series!

This interview allowed me to reflect on my journey and talk about the experiences that have shaped me, the lessons I've carried forward, and the heart behind The Fordward Approach—the company I've built from lessons I've learned personally and professionally about voice, growth, purpose, and legacy.

There's something incredibly meaningful about being asked to share your story when part of your life's work has become encouraging other people to find the courage to share theirs.

Every chapter hasn't been easy.

Not every step has been perfectly planned.

But I've learned that sometimes the experiences we question while we're living them become the very experiences that prepare us for what we're called to do next.

I'm grateful for the journey.

I'm grateful for the people who have walked pieces of it with me.

And I'm grateful that there are still chapters left to write.

Thank you, Voyage Alabama, for allowing me to share part of my story.

Come spend the day with us. Meet local authors. Be inspired. Celebrate the power of words and the journeys that connect us all.

Some stories are written. Others are shared out loud.

What began as putting words on paper has become creating spaces where others can discover the courage to tell their own stories.

This year's theme, "The Stories We Carry," is deeply personal to me.

Because every person carries a story.

Some stories have brought us joy.
Some have challenged us.
Some are still healing.
And some are waiting for the right moment to be told.

I'm honored to join my incredible co-host, Chandra Brown, as we create a space where storytelling, creativity, empowerment, and community come together.

If you've ever wondered whether your story matters...

This conversation is for you.

Because every legacy begins with someone deciding their voice deserves to be heard.

I was home.

This one meant more to me than simply setting up a table, displaying my books, and introducing myself as an author.

Back in the community where I once did homework, dreamed about my future, and began discovering my love for writing—long before I knew where those words would eventually take me.

To return years later as a published author was a full-circle moment I won’t soon forget.

To everyone who stopped by, purchased a book, shared a conversation, offered an encouraging word, or came over to say hello—thank you. You made coming home even more meaningful.

I left Gulfport with a grateful heart, new connections, and an even deeper appreciation for where my journey began.

I'm coming home.

Before I ever imagined becoming a published author... before I coached aspiring authors to write their own books... before I stepped onto stages to speak about courage and purpose...

I was a little girl in Gulfport, Mississippi.

That's where I learned to love words.
That's where my writing journey quietly began.
That's where the first pages of my story were written.

This weekend, I'm returning home—not as the young girl with dreams tucked away in notebooks, but as a participating author in the Inaugural Mississippi Gulf Coast Book Festival.

There is something incredibly special about coming back to the place where it all started.

It's a full-circle moment that reminds me that our beginnings matter... but they don't have to define our ending.

If you're from the Mississippi Gulf Coast, tell me your hometown in the comments!

This is for a specific kind of person.

You’ve been thinking about writing a book.

Not casually.
Intentionally.

But you haven’t:
• Clarified the message
• Structured the content
• Or committed to finishing it

That’s where guidance matters.

I’ve been having more conversations with professionals who are ready to move forward—but want to do it with clarity and intention.

If that’s you, I’m opening space for a few conversations.

No pressure. Just clarity.

“I’ll write it one day.”

But let’s be honest…

“One day” usually means:
• When I have more time
• When I feel more confident
• When life slows down

That day rarely comes.

The people who move forward don’t wait to feel ready.

They decide:
“My story is worth making time for.”

Not later.
Now.

✨ What does “one day” actually look like for you?
