Student Section: Located in the two far north sections.

Thursday night football is back, and we’re kicking off the season with a major matchup! Grand Haven High School is hosting the Lakers for the first time since 1989, and it’s going to be an incredible game under the lights.

Continuing our 2026 Hall of Fame Inductee Series with a true powerhouse on the track and trail! Carlyn Arteaga dominated distance running, leaving behind a historic legacy at both the high school and collegiate levels.

CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND: State Titles, District Crowns, & Laker Glory!

What a legendary weekend to be a Laker! Our athletes took to the state and district stages and absolutely dominated, bringing home team trophies, individual state titles, and a dramatic rivalry win.

Here is your quick breakdown of an unforgettable weekend in Spring Lake sports:

🏃‍♀️ Girls Track & Field: DIVISION 2 STATE CHAMPIONS!
✅ The Lady Lakers saved their absolute best for last, scoring 42 points to edge out Holland Christian and claim the State Championship trophy!
✅ Macy Subka’s Historic Day: The junior put on a masterclass, winning two individual state titles (100m hurdles in 14.65s and 300m hurdles in 42.84s).
✅ The Clincher: Subka, alongside Cora Parker, Kaleigh Clark, and Meghan Guczwa, won the 4x400 relay state title (3:55.25) to officially secure the team state championship!
✅ More All-State Honors: Cora Parker took 3rd in the 800m, and the 4x200 relay team (Arnold, Parker, Subka, Guczwa) placed 3rd.

🏃‍♂️ Boys Track & Field: Goran Clears the Competition
✅ Ben Goran is the State Champ: Just a sophomore, Ben solidified his spot as one of the best underclassmen in Michigan by clearing an incredible 15 feet, 1 inch to capture the Division 2 State Title in the pole vault!

⚾️ Baseball: District Champions!
✅ The Lakers faced rival Fruitport in a tense, high-stakes battle for the District Championship—and shut them out 2-0!
✅ Senior ace Maddux Kipling pitched a complete-game shutout with 10 strikeouts. In the bottom of the 7th with the bases loaded, two outs, and a full 3-2 count, Kipling fired a blistering strikeout to seal the crown.
✅ The Offense: Mason Troyer drove in the game's first run with an RBI single, and Owen Smies crushed a solo home run to provide the ultimate insurance run.
✅ What's Next: The Lakers (26-7) head to Sparta on Wednesday at 5:00 PM for the Regional semifinal!
