This is my 3rd 7x7 backdrop and Iā€™ve been learning more as I go.

I wanted to give my L brackets a little more wiggle room in the back so I decided to make them a little bigger but by doing so that means my top and bottom panels wouldnā€™t sit flush.. so as a carpenter you have to find solutions!

I took a little design from my very first backdrop and made mini slats on the corners to pull it together and line them up!

Iā€™m EXTREMELY happy with how this turned out.

Iā€™m 36.

And this is the s**t I wish I understood 10 years sooner.

Youā€™re not just building a body.

Youā€™re building the person who has to carry the weight of everything else.

Your business.
Your family.
Your responsibilities.
Your failures.
Your goals.

I spent years thinking I needed to work harder.

More hours.
More clients.
More projects.
More workouts.

Now I realize working harder isnā€™t always the answer.

Sometimes you need to slow down enough to figure out what actually matters.

Take care of yourself.
Build skills.
Build something of your own.
Protect your time.
Be present with your family.
And stop measuring your life by how busy you are.

At 26, I thought success was about how much I could handle.

At 36, Iā€™m realizing success is being able to build a life I actually want to live.

And yeahā€¦

I still want to put some damn muscle back on too. šŸ˜‚

Build the body. Build the business. Build the life.

Thatā€™s what Iā€™m working on now.
