Hello friends!
I just wanted to get on here and invite you all to join us in our spring program starting tomorrow (Monday May 4th). This round we will be focusing on gaining strength, and through proper diet and nutrition, hopefully adding a few lbs of muscle! Now some of you may say, “I don’t want to add muscle” I hear this from women especially. But hear me out, as we age we start to lose our metabolism, but a significant amount of that decline is because we start to lose skeletal muscle. Did you know that 1lb of muscle will burn about 6 calories per day at rest? And that same 1lb of muscle will burn 10-12 calories per day with an added workout? Seems insignificant right? Well let’s increase that number to 10lbs of muscle, and now we’re burning anywhere from 60 EXTRA calories per day at rest, to 100-120 EXTRA calories per day with an added workout. Does anyone know how many calories are in a pound of fat? 3500 calories. So since you are all active people, how long would it take to burn off a pound of fat if you had just 10lbs more muscle? Anywhere from 29-35 days.
I’m sure you all know someone, and maybe I can be the example for you, who seemingly doesn’t have to work that hard to stay lean. It’s not good genetics, and it’s not rocket science, it’s most likely because they carry extra muscle!
The picture above is just a picture I found on Google, it’s not one of our members. I just needed an example. Ladies, muscle will not make you bulky, fat will. Muscle will reshape your body, giving you better definition and a curvier physique. Men, I don’t think I need to convince you, we all want more muscle. 10lbs of muscle won’t turn you into the hulk, but it will make it easier to keep fat off and see the muscle you built!
In our last program, while losing weight, we saw several people who gained muscle alongside losing fat! Amber gained about 3.5lbs of muscle while following the plan and lost 28.5 lbs of fat! Devin gained 4lbs of muscle! Cynthia gained a few lbs too! These ladies are well on their way to easier weight loss! And all they did extra, was follow the eating plan I laid out for them. They did the same workouts, and they didn’t drastically change their lives.
And that’s what I want for you!
