Another wonderful (albeit damp) week at Cascade for the MF team! These ladies were troopers through some pretty wild weather and the horses handled the puddles like champs. We had lots of learning, growth, and laughter all week - we’re already counting down to next year!

Some team highlights:

Liz and Edison took on their first show together, with a TON of growth for this new partnership - learning each other in and out of the show ring and getting Liz back to showing after a long hiatus! Several top placings for this pair and we couldn’t be more excited for the two to continue developing as a team!

Gia and Apollo took on both rings this week and had great results in both hunters and jumpers, including a champion title for the jumper ring and reserve in the young horse class after in-hand, under saddle, and over fences phases. They also took third in a competitive Rosé All Day class to boot! 🍷

Tyra is newer to our crew, and took her young mare Khalamity out for her first rated show experience! Klammy was a superstar and exceeded all expectations, and Tyra kept us all laughing all week long. These two were frequently in the top ribbons and were just behind Gia in the Rosé class in fourth! Tyra’s positive energy, helpfulness, and hard work kept the team afloat this week, and we are beyond grateful for everything - thank you Tyra, and congratulations on a great first big outing for this youngster! We are thrilled for this pair’s continuing development and are so proud of the growth already underway.

Gia also brought her boy Petey, who is coming back to work after some vacation time - he kept things pretty laid back this week with just a few lower classes, but he’s feeling great and looking even better.

All in all - a great final hurrah for our travel season, and we’re ready to wind down the summer with a few local shows and a whole lot of winter homework! (Though we’d be okay with a few less puddle adventures 🤪)

We’ve gotten very lucky with some clean air this week, but we’re still giving our horses’ delicate lung tissue plenty of time to recover! Until we return to full work, we’ve gotten the course reset for some lowkey polework this weekend as they come back from time off.

Our wonderful barn owners have been working hard getting the main barn cleaned up this summer and we’re looking forward to moving (for the last time for a long time!!🤪) in a few weeks! The whole team has been working on various improvements around the facility and we’re very much looking forward to getting back in the full swing of things as we head towards the fall shows!

We still have room for some new additions beginning September 1 - let us know if you’d like to come take a tour!

Allison has been having so much fun with her new partner Selah, one just wasn’t enough! Congrats Allison on the purchase of Manila 58 - we are so excited to continue developing not one but two new partnerships with you! This seven year old Holsteiner is a stunning three-ring prospect and we can’t wait to see her blossom. Thank you to Jonelle and team with Ramsay Equine Select for helping us make this match!

The MF team is putting out feelers for a school horse to add to our barn! Ideal candidate is a long-term care lease, 15.3-16.2ish, no breed preference but stouter, quieter types preferred. Should have some experience jumping but doesn’t need to be a schoolmaster - MUST be well mannered on the ground and experienced on the flat. Serviceably sound is fine.

Our program provides 5-star care including an excellent team of vets and farriers, chiro and massage routinely, quality hay and grain/supplements as needed, ample turnout all day with 12x12 stalls at night, and on-site staff and owners (with trainers less than ten minutes up the road!) dedicated to the care and well-being of each horse on the farm. The facility also boasts a 100x250 indoor arena with well-maintained footing, along with several outdoor riding spaces to keep things interesting. We are in no hurry, as finding the perfect fit for our program is the most important thing, but let us know if you’ve got a horse that might work! DM or call/text to chat!

Meridian Farm is a hunter jumper program based out of the beautiful Westar Ranch, home to the largest indoor arena in the area! Whether you and your horse are looking to compete on the rated circuits or just learning to jump, we’d love to meet you! Our program emphasizes quality horsemanship and flatwork as the foundation to everything else; the horses come first, always! We tailor a plan for each horse and rider, discussing goals, dreams, challenges, and needs of each party to make sure you’ve got everything you need to succeed and grow in your partnership.

Meridian Farm offers lesson programs, professional riding, new jump courses set weekly (and kept up!) sales & lease assistance, show coaching, hauling, a kind, encouraging team and barn atmosphere, and so much more; Westar Ranch provides full care board with quality hay, spacious turnouts, 12x12 stalls, year-round wash racks, (with hot water!!) large indoor (100x250) and outdoor arenas, a derby field with gallop track, and ample space for outdoor riding. Halfway through week 2 and this view is pretty special. The ribbons are fun, the placings are the icing on the cake, but what it represents is so much more. The work these riders have put in, the growth every pair has demonstrated, the new partnerships already developing so beautifully, the not-always-linear journey full of ups and downs. It represents their dedication, tenacity, passion, diligence, and above all, their undying love of the horse. 💕

We as trainers could not be more proud of our crew - not just for the results in the show ring, but for every step of the journey along the way. Thanks for letting us be a part of it. 🫶🏼
