Spokane, we need your help.
Over the last week, the team at Cline's Heating & Air has been walking side by side with employees from Hurliman Heating and Air Conditioning after they abruptly shut their doors on their team, customers, and vendors last week.
We’ve sat with them.
We’ve listened to the stories.
And we’ve seen the tears.
Their last two paychecks have bounced, and it appears health benefits were cancelled weeks ago while employees were still having premiums deducted from their checks.
Commercial work was also billed out but subcontractors they hired were not paid, even though they cashed the checks.
The ripple effect is hitting a lot of good people.
One of their dispatchers we have hired is 22 years old and just moved into her first home last week. Others are worried about how they’re going to pay their rent, their mortgage, or their basic bills.
Helping our community is why we are in business and we knew we had to act quickly. At Cline’s Heating & Air Conditioning, we believe in we > me and people > profit.
So, instead of standing by and watching this happen, we brought on 5 members of the Hurliman team and have another 3–4 technicians will be starting Monday.
Do we have the work for them? Nope, but we believe when you do the right thing for the right reason…everything works out for the best in the power of reciprocity!
Bringing these hardworking people onto our team means we need the support of our community right now more than ever.
Just this week alone, in order to make room for these new teammembers, we’ve had to order:
• 2 new service vans (still need to order 3 more vehicles!)
• 4 new laptops
• 3 iPads
• A bulk order of uniforms
We’re making the investment because these people deserve a chance to keep working and supporting their families and trust through our community, God will provide.
But the reality is… we now need to fill the schedule so these technicians can get back to work.
