Many have asked questions about the status of our business (& there's many probably afraid to ask) 😆
So we thought we would give some context to what's going on in the life of Goliath!
When we moved back to this area in 2020, we brought our disc golf retailer business with us. This business was done online and out of our extra heated garage. It worked perfectly. We found that in order to bring on one of the leading disc brands, we needed to have a commercial brick and mortar. Fast forward, we found the space right on the highway and decided to take the plunge! During all of this, we also began manufacturing our own disc brand, Goliath Discs. So we decided to call the store Goliath Sporting Goods.
We got feedback from the community that offering gently used sports equipment would be needed. So we added that to our store. We then discovered pickleball and LOVED IT. So we added pickleball inventory to our store. Fast forward 3-4 years, we found that most of our business continued to be our discs for disc golf, and pickleball.
90% of our business continued to be online, through our own manufactured company, Goliath Discs and the building became more of a storage room (a large one).
So we made the hard decision to leave that space, and continue the online side of Goliath Discs with all of our inventory in a great storage space that allows for shipping out orders daily (the post office has gotten to know us well!). We continue to carry pickleball equipment and order as needed for those looking for a specific paddle, or more pickleballs. But we mostly stay busy with Goliath Discs, our disc golf company. We supply discs to disc golf players all over the country!
So with that, hopefully that gives context to what we're up to! In life, we learn along the way and we're SO grateful for the opportunity to love what we do!
