Last Tournament Recap

On the weekend of October 25th I fished the KBL 5x5 Monthly Championship. I qualified by winning the July Monthly and fished against 4 other anglers. We had a weekend to catch th best 5 smallmouth and best 5 largemouth. Due to work I could only fish about an hour Saturday after work and Sunday all day.

I have never fished this late in the year as I'm usually hunting. I assumed the 5 smallmouth would be easy, and I'd have to work for largemouth. HAHA... Jokes on me!! I never caught a smallie and only caught largemouth!! I ended up with only 3 keepers, though i knew ealy on Sunday that I probably wasn't going to finish well.

I relaxed, and just enjoyed being on the water. I caught close to 15 bass, but only 3 keepers. Definitely was a learning lesson. It was gorgeous on the water.

All in all it was a great season. Would like to have ended with the win, but the winner put a hellova smack down! I'm not %100 sure what next season holds yet, if I'm going to fish nationally or not

Very late tournament Recap!!!

After several solid tournaments, I was looking forward to the joint tournament with GLKFS and MKBC August 16th. Also on the line was a qualification for the Bassmaster Kayak Championship next spring in Tennessee.

We'll start by saying my goal was to fish clean....well, that didn't happen!! In a tourney with 39 anglers, there's not much margin for error. I ended with 82.25"... not terrible...however I lost not 1, not 2, but 3 significant upgrades. After all unfolded I ended up 11th of 39 having a TERRIBLE day. If I get those fish in the yak, I'm guessing I would've taken 2nd. I wouldn't have had enough to beat Randy Wagner who took the sweep!

It was disappointing considering my high hopes, however, it was still a solid end to a solid low key season. Just makes me want to push harder next year. As I'm writing this, im technically in the middle of another championship. I only have tomorrow to try and get 5 smallies and 5 largemouth while another angler has a full limit and another has a super solid limit of smallies going into tomorrow. We'll see what tomorrow brings!!!
