Spencer Golf & Country Club, established in 1919, is a Semi-Private Golf Club featuring its well manicured 18 hole championship golf course and full service restaurant experience. If a membership isn't right for your needs, non-residents of Spencer are welcome to play anytime that the course is available, as often as you would like. aiser outing, or group golf outing, look no further than Spencer Golf & Country Club. We can accommodate groups as big as 200 golfers and more with all the professional golf tournament services. The Country Club is also an excellent choice for your next business meeting, banquet, or wedding reception. Spencer is the home of the Northwest Amateur Golf Tournament, which has been held at the Country Club since 1921. It was the 2nd golf tournament ever played in Iowa, with the Iowa Amateur being first. The field consists of 384 golfers each year, and continues as the only 72 hole championship played in the state of Iowa.

Pink Ribbon Update: The Pink Ribbon Classic Golf Tournament hosted in July raised an outstanding total of $17,000 for the Spencer Hospital Women's Wellness Center! The weather shaped up on Monday for the CyHawk Rivalry Best Shot Tournament. The Iowa Hawkeyes teams came out on top this year with a team scoring average of 66.9 compared to the Cyclones average of 67.8. Those participating also raised $340 for our youth golf club leasing program through purchases of $5 mulligans. Thank you to all who joined us!

Join us for the Annual 4-Person Best Shot Tournament on Sunday, September 27th! Tee times range from 9:15am to 11:30am, with groups starting on both #1 and #10 tees. We will play in groups of eight players (two teams) and yes... non-member teams are welcome to play!

The entry fee is $20.00 per member and $50.00 per non-member ($20.00 of entry goes toward prize payouts & $30.00 is for green fee) (cart rental fee or trail fee is additional). Golf shop merchandise credit will be awarded to the top winning teams of each flight. Flag prizes and skins game included also!

Sign up a team to play by calling the golf shop today at (712) 262-2028. Tees played will be as follows…. (Men – White Tees) (Men Age 60-64 may play White/Gold Combo Tees if they choose to) (Men Age 65+ may play Gold Tees if they choose to) (Men Age 70+ may play black tees if they choose to) (Women - Black Tees).

What is the 9/36 Challenge? Student members are challenged to play the course from a designated distance below and work to achieve a passing score of 36 as they develop their skills!

The five levels of the 9/36 Challenge to work to score a 36 or lower are....
Level 1 – Start from 25 yards away from the center of the green on all 9 holes (All 9 holes are considered par 4’s for this challenge level)
Level 2 – Start from 100 yards from the center of the green (marked by red disc). Holes #5, #9, #13 and #17 start from green tees (All 9 holes are considered par 4’s for this challenge level)

Starting with Level 3, you will now have two par 3 holes, two par 5 holes, and five par 4 holes just like the standard course setup.

Level 3 – Start from the Green tees on par 3 holes (approx. 100 yards), 150 yard marker on par 4 holes (white disc), 200 yard marker on par 5 holes (blue disc). Target score remains a score of 36 or lower.

Congratulations to the 2026 Thursday Night Men's League Overall Champions Doug Albert and Dan Genson, as they outlasted all 11 other teams in yesterday's hole-by-hole elimination Champions Derby competition. A great run in the derby competition was also made by runner-up team Steve Grell/Nyle Dotson, as well as 3rd place team Ross Carlson/Pat English and 4th place team Chad Atherton/Matt Stanzel. Thank you to all participants and substitute players for another fun year of camaraderie and matches!
