Powell Valley Gun Club

Powell Valley Gun Club A year round shooting facility, two field trap range. Also indoor pistol range. This club has been in existence since the 30's. This is a non alcohol facility.

Formally chartered in 1959 as a member owned (conservation club). Over the years, this facility has evolved into one of the best shooting facility's in East Tennessee. We offer bull's eye pistol shooting, and action pistol shooting. We also offer trap shooting and our range is ATA certified. Concealed carry permit classes also offered. We are also proud to host (Hunter Education Training and Certi

fication). Women and children are invited and encouraged to participate in any of our shooting programs. Shooting instructors are available.

PVCL hosted our May Big 50 trapshoot Saturday 5/2. We had 8 shooters for the singles, 6 for the handicap. No doubles were shot. A steady breeze made the targets very challenging. Chris Bolton broke 50/50 on the singles. Hank Thomas shot 49/50 on the handicap. Great shooting guys! Rest of scores are attached.

PVCL hosted the first Big50 event of the new year. We had 5 registered shooters for the singles . Also had 4 shooting practice. Had 3 shooters for the handicap. Thanks to all that came out and to all that helped with the shoot. Scores are attached.

Notice to All Club Members and Trap Shooters

Due to a large increase in target purchases this year, the cost per case has risen from $18.40 to $20.10. Because of this increase, we have no choice but to adjust our shooting prices.

Effective April 1, Trap Fees will be as follows:

Members: $6.00 per round

Non-Members: $8.00 per round

Big 50 Shoots:

$21.00 for the first 50

$18.00 for each additional round

This increase is also due to taxes now being charged on targets, which had not been applied in previous years.

Come join us on Thursday nights, at 7:00 PM, in the pistol house, for some friendly Bullseye Competition. All approved calibers are welcome. Optic or no optic is the shooters choice. We utilize a handicap scoring system, so all skill levels are competitive.

The Pistol House is Temporarily Closed for renovation. All members are encouraged to help with the renovation!
We will post times and activities on the page.

The outdoor range is still open, but as a reminder, NO CENTERFIRE RIFLES!!

We are finding evidence of centerfire rifles being shot at the range, this is in the form of spent casings and damage to the steel plinking targets.
We have installed several cameras at the range, and if you are found violating the no centerfire rifles rule, your membership will be revoked and you will be held responsible for damages.
