Testing underway!

We ran one of our IR18 chassis at Pittsburgh International Race Complex for a shakedown session today, in preparation for an upcoming league series.

Does this mean Krone Autosport is entering an Indycar league in rFactor2? Stay tuned.

Just over two years ago, our efforts to bring speed to a national series paid off, as Steve Krone and Pierce Krone put their trucks on the front row at Daytona in iRacing.

This wasn't about which driver or truck was faster. This was about the sheer amount of teamwork that went into doing what we do best.

We may not find ourselves comfortable with a setup. Slow in qualifying. Wrong end of a strategic move. Upside down and in the fence. Dead last on track.

No matter what, we push each other to new levels.
We put it all out there on the track.
We find where we can improve.
We do it all over again.
And we absolutely thrive.

Krone Autosport is, and always will be, the little family team that strives to be something more. To put our teammates first, on and off the track. To put our partners out there for all to see. To engage with fans. To enjoy the world of Motorsport.

This isn't a goodbye, for we haven't even started yet.

New leagues. New opportunities. New drivers. More partners. More racing.

Pierce Krone spent 20 minutes putting together a setup to run the Stockcar 2018X at Indy in rFactor2. His first flying lap on a full tank of gas and green surface was good enough for THIRD on the all-time record board.

Late in the race, he pulled off the world number ONE lap, on a setup which had only 9 laps of testing prior to the race.

Better yet? Zero drafting assistance whatsoever.

Pierce Krone pulled off this overtake with some serious balls, in what ultimately was the pass for the win in an iRacing Indy 500 event.

Having the quickest car in race trim, he went aggressive on the outside of turn 1. The leader came up into him, which Pierce somehow managed to un-crash his way through the exit of turn 1. Catching the draft into turn 3, he was gone from there.

A present for his birthday.

Steve Krone, pulling off one of his greatest drives to date. Having fallen back to 19th on the start, Steve took damage, avoided three wrecks, had a drive through penalty for avoiding one crash, and kept his wits about him the whole time.

In what might just be one of iRacing's great comeback drives, Steve finished in THIRD during this iRacing Indy 500 event.
