-Tonight a small group met at Lyle Hare stadium to climb stairs in honor of the lives lost and effort given to rescue any soul that remained in and around the World Trade Centers.
We listened to radio chatter, chaos and calm voices. When we felt tired we were asked to think of the firefighters who didn’t have the option to stop and rest. They dug deep and found “more”.
-You and I will rarely, if ever, be in a situation where we need to find that “extra level”, we will never be in situations that MAKE us move when our body screams to stop.
-Do you ever wonder what you would do in a situation like that? Do you wonder “could I? Or would I quit?”
-The next time a challenge is presented to you (like showing up to climb stairs) TAKE IT!
Take the opportunity to challenge yourself.
Take the opportunity to become stronger.
Take the opportunity to grow—mentally and physically.
We don’t always get to choose the hardships life gives us. But when we’re blessed with a comfortable and sheltered life, we can choose to seek out challenges that make us better.
Don’t avoid the challenge. Accept it and grow.
