❄️⛷️ Sparta Special Olympics Ski Team at Mountain Creek ⛷️❄️

What a great Saturday on the slopes! On 1/17/26, AnnaMarie, Jamie, Keegan, and Coach Jim, Coach Karen, and Coach Ken hit the trails at Mountain Creek, sharpening their skills and building confidence as they prepare for the 2026 Special Olympics Winter Games. 💪❄️

So proud of the hard work, determination, and teamwork shown by our athletes and coaches. Shoutout as well to Aaron, who had left before these pictures were snapped but is always part of the team spirit! 👏💙

Fresh powder + big smiles ⛷️❄️

Sparta Special Olympics skiers hit the slopes at Mt. Creek in Vernon, NJ today, making the most of a great snow day as they prepare for the 2026 Winter Games!

Skiers Jamie B. and Keegan S. were joined by Coach Jim, Coach Ken, and volunteer Kristian, putting in strong runs, building skills, and having a blast on the mountain.

Way to go, team—keep up the hard work and excitement as the journey to 2026 continues! 💙💛

Thank you to Harrison Philips #97 for the NY Jets, Special Olympics New Jersey and Dick's Sporting Goods store for inviting a handful of our Sparta athletes to become Harrison's Playmakers. Each of our athletes had the experience of a lifetime. Thank you, Harrison for being such a genuinely kind human being. Your love for our athletes radiates with every word that comes out of your mouth. Our Sparta athletes are ready to give back and answer the call.

🏀 Basketball Meet & Greet – Saturday December 6th & 13th! 🏀

Looking to join a team or get involved with Special Olympics basketball? Come to our open house-style Meet & Greet at Stephen J. Gerace School, 59 Boulevard, Pequannock, NJ on Saturday, December 6th and Saturday, December 13th, from 9:30 AM–12:30 PM!

Meet our players, chat with Craig Lombardi (our basketball director), and discover how to become part of our Morris & Sussex county teams. We’re also looking for coaches and volunteers to join our program—your support makes all the difference!

Meet Jaime Janssen, one of our incredible Team New Jersey athletes heading to the 2026 USA Games in Minnesota! 🇺🇸✨

Jaime has been part of Special Olympics for 8 years, gaining confidence, building friendships, and growing both on and off the field. He takes great pride in his hard work, good grades, and the support of his family and teammates.

This will be Jaime’s first USA Games, and he’s been practicing every day to make his dream a reality. We couldn’t be more proud to cheer him on as he represents New Jersey in Athletics! 🏃‍♂️💨

We’re excited to announce that Coach Jennifer Schock has been selected to represent Team New Jersey as the Head Bowling Coach for the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games in Minnesota! 🇺🇸✨

Coach Schock has spent the last 8 years growing and supporting our Sparta Special Olympics program, helping it expand from one sport to seven. Her dedication, energy, and heart have made an incredible impact on our athletes, families, and community.

As she prepares for this amazing opportunity, we’re inviting our community to support her journey.
